Good luck with you new prize 'Mate, don;t let the lack of speed bother you. I own a beautiful 253 Convincor with a stock 300hp 454 and I only top out in the upper 50s, but oh the fun you can have with your dream boat. Some of my friends keep trying to get me to build a bigger motor for our boat, but like it is now, it runs good and so far it is very dependable and gets fairly good gas mileage.

Also agree on speed with Herb-always faster boats out there.But I would rather look good & always run & not fix every time back on trailer!To each there own-mines 97 280ZT. Checkmates may not be the fastest boats,but by far better looking.Though I do know some real fast ones.
