Finally, I have found what Ive been looking for! A new motor for my predictor:lol:

j/k......

I have been searching for a deal like this for years though. Its a 21' Rally sport (superboat clone) with a 1993 3.9 GT Johnson worked to over 350hp! I would prefer a Merc but then again I have never had any problems with an OMC so I guess ill have to see about that. The motor runs and sounds amazing. Ive been told that it can rev over 8000rpm so it should do over 90. we'll see. The boat needs some TLC but the transom is solid as a rock and to my suprise there are no spider cracks in the gel anywhere at all even in the splashwell.

:bigthumb: Im a bit jealous what year is the boat I dont think ive ever seen one here in washington. I bet that it cleans up very nice any ideas what it ways, looks to be built alot heavier then say a starflite? I see it has a pad I always thought superboats were V all the way back. Cant wait to see pics down the line and hear the numbers. Aaron

I just did a lil looking, all the superboats I found are V all the way back. Is that hull stepped like a starflite in the back or does it have a true pad? Any way I look at it I think I like the Rallysport over the Superboat . I cant believe ive never seen or herd anything about that hull. Looks like it will be a blast to drive howd ya find it? You know we all like to here the storys behind diamands in the ruff? Ive moved from a bit jealous to very jealous now!!!! Aaron

Thanks man. The boat is a 1988. It has a notched transom like the starflite and superboat w/ no pad. The dry weight is 1500lbs.
It is a rare find. I cant wait to see how she runs I know for sure I need a better prop.
The boat looks like it was re cleared in some spots so Ill have to see what I can do in the mean time to get the original finish back. I plan on a custom paintjob in the future though.

I should never of looked at that pic :( . I have a bad feeling it may get me in trouble , I REALLY like the look of that boat. Hmm, know of any others by chance? :thumb: Aaron

Do you fellas remember the Starflite that Kunkels rigged up with the JohnyRude V8?

I found it on Craigslist and I traded my Buell blast and dirtbike to a kid on the cape strieght up for it! Ive actually had ALOT of sucess with craigslist, I highly recomend that everybody checks it out.
The last owner had it for quite some time and his uncle did some serious work to it. The heads were shaved and everything was polished etc. It has the stock offshore mid and a low water pickup nosecone. It has a really nice hydraulic steering and all the hardware and rails are in excelent shape. This is basically my dream boat since my dad sold his superboat so Im very excited about it:bigthumb: I still cant beleive that its mine
Im sure WILDMAN has something to say about these boats. he had one with a 300x:eyecrazy:

Whats truly sad about this, is that I just found that pic myself on scream and fly as well. Im already looking everywhere for info and pics on that boat, one good thing for me is that there seems to be none neer me that I could go take a so called peak at.:o That will save me a lil trouble hear on the home front forsure. They didnt come in open bows by chance? Its certainly easier to push for something new like that when ya can say "It would make a great family boat":D Aaron

That is a really cool boat. I alway was interested in Superboats. I worked for Stoneham Boat Center in Lynn MA for a summer when i was 19. The guy I worked for use to be a Superboat dealer and he also raced a 30' Superboat outboard in APBA races. I remember looking at an old beat up 21 footer he had laying around in the yard. Man I wish i had made a deal on that thing:brickwall:
Didnt know anything about fixing up hulls at that time.

BP when are we going to start seeing pictures of PROJECT X?

Can you get any pics that show the bottom id like to see it. If it does have a pad id imagine it run faster then the superboat, but im not sure. Very cool boat for sure.:bigthumb: Aaron

Aaron, Sure Ill grab some pics of it sometime.
Today, I began the tedious process of restoring the gelcoat by block sanding all the old krylon crystal clearcoat that the old owner sprayed on. 5 hours so far and not even a 1/4 of the way there. It should look as good as new when Im finished sanding and buffing.
Adam, I really have been slacking on the predictor. I should have some photos before spring. I would love to hang this 3.6 on it to see what would happen but Im afraid it will end up at the bottom of the lake
