I'd run it first and see how your boat likes it. My pulsare liked the 4 blade trophy. What rpms were you at with the tempest?

Thanks for the reply...runs about 5400 @60 full tank 2 adults trimmed out before rpm rise and speed doesn't go any higher

We probably need more info about the boat.

Is the motor bolted directly onto the transom or is there a set back bracket or even a jack plate on there first that the motor is bolted to? If these are unfamiliar terms you could google them to see what I'm asking about. Or look at the yellow 2100 pulsare just put up for sale here buy Droptop, it has one on it.

In order to get the most speed and spin a prop with that much pitch you are going to need the motor set at least 10 inches back off the transom and raised so the centre line of the propeller is even with the bottom of the hull. Jackplate are designed for this purpose.

Edit I reread that you have a 5.5 plate. Was it at the top of its travel?

Thanks for the reply, i think at the time the Anti-Ventilation Plate was lined up with bottom,i didn't realize for top speed the prop shaft needed to be lined with bottom,(Great Piece Of Information)
