I'm the bastard that bought this baby off Ebay. 1990 Maxxum 281 with twin o/b mercs. I sent some pics to chris@checkmate-boats.com with the hope of getting them posted. If there's another way, somebody please let me know. The boat is incredibly clean. I can't wait to take it out.

I think I figured it out. This boat is the actual boat pictured in the 1990 catalog with Johnsons on the back. Any info about this boat would really make my day. Thanks,
Jack

Ah, you got it before Instigator got ahold of it! Congrats!

My advice, go through this boat from front to back and top to bottom with a fine tooth comb. There's been a little history on this boat changing hands the last couple years. Just make sure EVERYTHING is done right, and you've got yourself a BIG hot looking ride........

This boat is so clean you can boat on it. The rigging on the motor needs some finishing touches. I'm looking for a good outboard tech that can make sure everything's set up right. But the the boat is immaculate. I was selling some laser 2 props on ebay last week. Good thing I didn't sell'em.

I was taking it in tomorrow to a place in Kingston called Certified Marine Service to finish the frigging rigging. I might just go bizerk and put twin 300's on. I mean they gotta rig it anyway right. Actually if I sold my Chevelle I just might.

I think it all depends on the power. You could probobly find a hull like that for $13k-$17k. Then power it. Decent used twin o/b's with life left in them could go for $4k-$8k. Inboards are a hole in the water that you throw money into. I'm not an inboard fan.
