Shutting Down an Outboard?

Stabil and Seafoam do different things. Seafoam is kerosene, naptha and isopropyl alcohol. Its not a fuel stabilizer in the sense that it contains no "preservative" antioxidants.

Most people don't need either seafoam or stabil.

When u run a two stroke out of fuel you run it out of oil also!!! Not good! I run regular 93 octane fuel in mine but my boat never sits for more than 3 days anyway!

Sooo...let me get this straight...
-I should always have my tank close to full when not in use (I'm always 1/4 or less)
-Marine stabil is no different than the regular stuff except double the price.
-In south Florida we are very wet (high humidity) so should I block off the tank vent when not in use to prevent moisture contaminating the fuel.

BTW...when you guys get started, you really get going.
Great debates from all sides.

Haven't been out in 6 weeks...gonna try and run her in the next 2 or so.
See...all year boating isn't all that...........

I wish Connecticut would allow non ethanol fuel for boats.
I use Star-Tron as an additive. Don't know if it works but that's
what I use
