(SOLD)FOR SALE 1986 Exciter 18'-6" with 1986 Mercury XR2

Thank you:cheers:

It isn't currently setup for tubing/skiing, but with the right prop and the addition of a pylon, it should do fine. I'll be out on Sunday if you want to take a test ride:bigthumb:
I'll be @ dredge Harbor getting this bad boy ready for the water on Sunday, but I may be able to swing a test drive.

NICE!!

I've been looking at boats for a while now and thats probably the nicest checkmate I've seen...awsome job on the resto, I read every page of your link...Really nice job man

very nice, got my gears turning but not seeing a logical way to make this happen :-( You are a far away ... My boat is for sale, have had a few good bites... your's right in line with what I've been looking for. My usual haunts are suffering low water levels, I want out of the lakes and back into the river, need to get back into an outboard. What's it weigh, and how is the trailer? (wondering if it would kill my 4cyl 06' accord to drag it all the way back to Michigan... I used to tow my Enticer w/o problems, but never that far...)

The trailer is in good shape, but nothing fancy. The lights and bearings are a couple years old and the tires are just over a yr old with around 1500 miles on them. I have towed it well over 100 miles one way without any issues. Not sure on the exact weight -

trailer is approx 750
Engine is approx - 400
Boat is approx - 2000
Approx total weight should be under 3500 lbs

Had a potential buyer inspect my boat this am, and am meeting them this afternoon on Lake MI for water test. If that goes well I'll be in contacting you soon.

Do you tow the starfire with your accord? If so you should have no problems with the exciter. That 350 weighs a lot more than his xr2.

Nooo - My Montero or Raider has always done the towing duty for the Starfire. No way the honda would handle that. It did ok with the old 90hp outboard Enticer, but that probably weighed in about 2000-2300lbs total.

Not sure I trust the ol' Monte that far, it's just an old tow mule that I use mainly local. (Several trips to Hardy Dam, but thats under 100 miles each way.)

I sold my Starfire this afternoon. First person to actually show up and go for a ride / drive and really check it out close just grinned ear to ear and paid cash on the spot. I really wanted to sell, but having that bittersweet feeling about now. Really hated seeing it leave the driveway a couple hours ago.....

I'm going to re-review your resto thread, and ponder how I might cover the physical distance issue. Will send you a pm tomorrow -

I've personnaly seen and riden in this boat a few times. I can tell you its clean. The new paint really pops the flake and the interior with the new modern seats is really nice. Boat has always run good with no problems I've ever seen or heard. I'd have no problem buying it if I was in the market.
