St. Clair 2010

i run the south channel to the north and out to anchor bay all the time. its not that bad of a hike and a nice run if the south channel is not busy. is there a launch and place to tie up in the park if i just boat up there? ive never been past the split but it looks like the park is just after the channel splits

Your better off to Launch at the DNR facility in Algonac it is right as you come into town across from the KRoger.. LOTS of ramps, good water, plenty of parking.

Mt.Clemons is where I planned on stopping this year. IS it worth the 1 hour in a no wake? Remember, I'll be on the boat for a long time across Lake Erie, up the Detroit and then across LStC. No wake might not be too bad.

Mainly looking for a good place to stop, eat and have a drink. Take a break before the ride back.

It's not a bad cruise and after all the running might be relaxing for you. I am by no means an expert on Mt. Clemons, but it is a decent sized city with bars and restaurants near the river. If you want better info, go over to www.lakestclair.net, create a profile and ask questions--you'll get responses from people in the know about the area--good places to eat, drink etc. The city does get rocking at times of the summer with bands and such.

Mt Clemens is a Party, but it is a good hour of no wake to get to the city
from the lake, unless you dock at a marina at the mouth of the river and catch a ten minute cab ride in.

Let me know when anyone is going out on the lake or channels. I have the ability t dock on the south channel infront of my girlfriends family cottage just north of St. Marks Chruch. going out on the 4th weekend with the boat in tow. I drop in next to Brownies at a free DNR site on the island. Wouldn't try putting anything larger than a 21 footer in and out at that spot.

The South Channel is like glass during the week and some weekends. Great location to be.

Keep me posted we can schedule a run. Ive done from the clinton river to port huron before and from Windmill point to Belle River in Canada as well in my enchanter.

I will be houghton with the trimate. I have the front seats covered and in now I will have the drivers seat in but not covered ran out of time. With working 2 jobs and school its hard to find time to work on the boat. I will have fun with it this weekend!:surf:
