i suggest ST CLAIR RIVER!!!! nice runs.. and small beach where we can meet and greet.
and a camping ground if you decide to stay the night.
well thats a bummer, hope you get her all fixed! ill see ya in sept. if not sooner!Looks like I'll miss this one,Boats in the shop with a bad power pak (hopefully).I have buddy going but I really don't trust him. Don't want be gone for days. If you know what I mean! Besides theres a class I need thats givin only on that friday to keep my appraisal licence current and a sister in law in town then too! HAVE FUN AND SEE YOU IN SEPTEMBER!
theres launches in algonac and clay twp right around the bend..
as far as where to meet.. the base of it. where all the channels meet would work.
yea we can figure something. ill just launch across the lake and make the run up the channel to there. something in july should work
i run the south channel to the north and out to anchor bay all the time. its not that bad of a hike and a nice run if the south channel is not busy. is there a launch and place to tie up in the park if i just boat up there? ive never been past the split but it looks like the park is just after the channel splits
Matt, There are two that I use.Theres the Metro Park at foot of 16 mile road. The only proplem which really is not much of one, you have to Idle out thru black creek about a 10 minute ride. But on the weekends that is a party all its own.It get busy as Telegragh Rd.
Then theres the DNR ramp at the mouth of the Clinton River. Its nice and puts you in right at the lake.Take 94 to north river rd head east cross over the bridge over the clinton river to south river rd and just continue east.
Both ramps have many lanes and are well maintained and have plenty eye candy around!
yup.. there is.. also i live down the street from the launch on a canal and can support three or maybe more if my neighbor doesnt mind.
if its just you and two others coming out.. theres plenty of room to dock and chill./have a bon fire/bbq ..
if there are more then we would have to move the meetup spot to the beach.
adress is 2220 st clair river drive algonac mi. to give you an idea of the area
my canal is approx a half mile past the tip of russel island..
Maybe a "little" off topic, but I make an annual run up to LStC every year - from Port Clinton, Oh. This year, I was planning on heading down the Clinton River. Is it worth it?
It's usually only a day trip for me; across the lake, up the Detroit, into St.C and then I usually hit Jefferson Beach for lunch and head back down.
Thinking about Algonac or something else to do this time. Wanting to kill a little more time OFF the boat for a few hours before the ride back. Ideas??
If I have to stay the night, I've been staying at Detroit Yacht Club- but don't want to stay the night.
Just looking for some tips, pointers or places to go. Thanks.
You could go up the Clinton River but it is no wake all the way to Mt. Clemons which is well over an hours cruise. You might be better heading up the South Channel and hitting things on the St. Clair river.
