Starflight Splashwell delete

I'd like to delete the splashwell on my Starliner if I ever do a transom on it. I think I'd just bring it up to the top of where the upper motor bolts are now and put about 12 inches of set back on it. I think a full on bracket would be too much and make it porpoise a lot.

Do some searching on it cause I know somebody here did what atc250r is talking about. Made it more like a Pulsare splashwell. There was still a well, just no lip.

I don't think I'd go that route although it'd be nice to put a small, upholstered sun deck back there. I like the Pulsare set up and it won't require such a huge set back for motor clearance.

Removing the splash well will work fine so long as you use a set back of about 10" to 12" otherwise there will not be enough room for the top of the motor and cables when you raise/tilt up. If you don't plan on setting the motor back that far you will have to leave some splash well for motor clearance.

Here is a couple of pics of my MX-16 with 6" set back
