Stock Mercury 225efi mods ?

Are there any decent mods that can be done to a stock Mercury 225efi ?(lower unit or powerhead) What kind of pricing for these mods ? I have a 2000 Mercury 225efi just looking for some more HP.

Lots of Mods!!

Simon Marine makes lots of mods for 3.0 liter blocks. Lighter flywheels, reeds, heads, exhaust relief, nose cones, etc. etc. You need to come up with a plan about what you want to spend and what mods you are willing to do first.

For $7500+ change you could have 335 reliable HP, oil injection and a full year warranty. I could only imagine what my boat would do with that !!! That could turn triple digits. I'd be another statistic.(crash and burn for sure)

OK guy's, it's simple. Remove the top rear section of the cowling(the part that looks like a handle), use a 1 1/2" to 2" hole saw and cut 4 to 6 holes in the flat area that is exposed when you remove that small section. Now for the $5 part. you will need to buy 4 new bolts and 4 plastic 3/4" to 1" long spacers and put the cover back on top of the cowling with the spacers and longer bolts. With this section raised up, it catches more air. The holes that you drilled give the air a place to go, in your motor! boatman

so youre finally getting tired of your speeds.I knew it was just a matter of time.Mine has special reeds,a 300 air box,and a recalibrated ECU to 250,this is how i bought it,although i feel its a little tired cuz im only getting 74mph so far.My feeling is buy a 300 promax in good shape so its not a heinz 57.This setup is good for 85mph and you can take it to any dealer for service work being stock and all.Just my 2 cents.By the way,was that you on winneconne lake last weekend?

I was not on Winneconne but, I may be on Winnebago Sunday(near waverly beach) if weather permits. We have some friends with jetskis that will be there too.
