Thanks eh

I don't know what all the fuss is about?

What does my "Rep power" or how many "thanks" I have do for me?

Does anyone like me more if I have some? or less if I don't.

If I got free supporting membership status by having so many post/yr, so many thanks/yr and a certain level of Rep ... I might care.

Maybe if I had 3000+ "thanks" like John, I could get a adrenaline rush when I open the home page up. Maybe I can hang around with John and all those "Thanks" because he must have groupies by now.

I do like to use it as a like button, so I can let someone know when I think they have posted something good/great.

But until John says "it's great being on top, you gotta try this" I'm not sure the "totals" matter at all.

Now, if SIM was on top we would never hear the end of it.:poke: So we must all make a pact to ensure that never, ever happens.:shakehead:

Hi Gang,

I've got no problem disabling the thanks button if that's what you want done.

Sorry, I wasn't aware it was being abused.

When I initially installed it, it was supposed to be a positive thing, but if people think it's become a negative thing overall then I can remove it.

I think the basic idea of it, was that it provided a way to say thanks to someone for a post you like, almost like the "like" button works with Facebook.

Let me know what you would like to do and we'll make it happen.

Instead of the typical bandaid, find out the user IP and ban the account and any other account from that IP. The sole purpose of the account was nothing.. ..

I agree the purpose was only to cause grief and abuse the forum for someones own benefit. That someone should not be allowed on the site, until full public apology to those harmed. Unless everyone harmed thinks it's just a harmless prank.

I'm so glad I'm not a site Mod or Admin.

Chris and the Mods thanks for what you do!

It's true. I'd gloat and be insufferable. Do yourselves a favor........

Done,

I PM'd all your buddies, no ones going to "thank" your posts any more. Well except for the "thanks" I just gave you for confirming your true nature. And the "thanks" I might give you if your response to this is in anyway favorable to me. And the "thanks I may give you if ..... crap this will never work.

I use it as a like button as well as I'm sure lots do, and it's kinda nice to have for that reason, if you like someone's post you can show that without commenting if you don't really have anything to say, and I think that works well for that, maybe just don't count them? I dunno, it means nothing anyway.

i agree on this. thanks is also to me an "seen your response on my post" button

is there a possibility to remove thanks button and ad a seen button. or make more buttons?

a simple ok post is looking like a count chaser.
