I seen these boats a good while back and forgot to post them. I think they look pretty good, dont really like the name Tuff on the side.

Wow those are some sharp looking boats. I love that 28. They are built for one thing.....going fast! Doesn't look like much for creature comforts and cruising......but I love the lines and looks!

Those hulls have a short freeboard too. Looks like half the height of my Convincor. I would have a hard time buying a 28' boat that does not have a cabin or bolster seats. Im sure those custom, high tech, and lightweight hulls are not cheap either.
 
I met the owner of Tuff at the Toronto boat show last year. I was interested in the Tuff 16' for my kids. Seemed like a decent guy until I mentioned I had a Checkmate. He than proceeded to tell me what a POS Checkmates were, and how great his Tuff's were.:pissed: Real arrogant s.o.b. Who says stuff like that to a potential customer? I wouldn't buy one of his boats, good or not, if they were the last boat manufacturer on the planet.
 
28 look like a sit down boat with no freeboard , thats pantera 28 money 150k . if its made in canada maybe it comes with a lifetime supply of labatts...on an entirely unrelated subject who besides me wants BR to put his shirt back on in his avatar.....please just topless chicks no dudes

that does look like his fairing in the pic, im very sorry to have confused you with some pasty white dude..
 
Those Tuff Boats are extremely hot looking!! That 28 I/O is sick! Kinda Donzi-ish but better! I'd love to see what the 21 would look like with a scooped engine hatch and pair of big stainless pipes stickin' out the back with a big block making alot of sweet noise!
 
Just a thought, I wonder what removable race fairing would look like on a 2100 LD, similar to what's shown on that yellow 21.

A few years back, there was a guy who had made a fairing for a Checkie, I can't remember what model he did it for though. It looked really sharp though. I think Mate should offer a custom glass bow cover for the bowriders and a fairing for the back of selected models. How cool would it be to have a 2100 B/R with a custom glass bow cover and a race fairing?

Regarding Tuff, Mark is a member of our Endless Boating site and I've posted some pics over there, of some of the pics I've taken of his boats at the Toronto Boat Show over the years. Usually his booth is with or beside John Spaeths as they work together on some things. The Hydrostream/J-Craft and Tuff displays has always been one of my favourite stops at the T.O. Boat Show. It's not uncommon for me to burn up an hour or two swapping stories with those guys, while I drool over the boats. :D

There is a nice Tuff for sale on Hwy 11 south at double RR marina for anyone insterested. :)

Fairing / Windscreen,, I dont like a windscreen on a Checkmate but after seeing them on a tuff boat they look good on them.

I know what Checkmates problem is and why I cant stand them on their boats. If you look at the tuff boat they change the colors around on the fairing making the fairing look like a total seperate item. If Checkmate builds a white boat the fairing is white, or what ever color the top cap is. If Checkmate changed the colors on their windscreen that would put a whole new look on the boat.
 
Those tuff boats are pretty nice lookin and supposedly bullet proof.

I agree chris, i'd love to see a glass cover for the bowrider models, i think they would look much better.

You're right on Red. IMO Tuff utilized a great color/shape combo to bring
attention to both, and at the same time blend it to make the boat look even better.

It'd be awesome if today's computer technology could generate some real representations of this on a Check. Love Chris' idea on the bowcover / fairing together. :thumb:
 
I have had the pleasure of riding in and driving a couple of the 21's. they are unbeliveable in terms of performance and ride. I was in the 28 with the 250's and 5 people and 80 was effortless. This year in the Muskoka Checkmate Rally Mark brought both a 28 and 16 Tuff for the afterlunch part of our run.

I heard rumor that they may have a new deck for the 21, built ultra light with infused kevlar for the toronto boat show this year.
