want to make a rooster tail.

I seen a boat on the lake that was making a rooster tail and was wanting to be able to make the same. The boat that was making a the rooster was a 35 foot Donzi so it was an inboard. Any one know what might be going on with the Donzi. I don't think it was over trimed.

The drive hight on the Donzi is very high which makes the roostertail, pretty common on the Donzi.

If you have a SS prop and you hit your trailer trim buttom a few times that should work. Was able to do this on my 202 Persuader. Only down side raising your outdrive that much puts alot of stress on the ujoints & gimbel bearing.

If you are running a bravo, they hate roostertails....waaay too hard on the u-joints and drive. Alphas do it a little better but once again, don't do it for long. Most that run great rooster tails are outboards, jets, and surface drives. If you can find shorty lowers and surface props, you could run with a mild tail.

You can simply disconnect your trim limit switch shich will allow you to trim up a little higher, but as Gimme Fuel noted it will be hard on your outdrive.

Roosters do look cool and most boat will do it if given enough trim. Other than look they have no purpose. When you trim up and start shooting a rooster all that power goes into the air and making the wall of water that follows your boat. Idealy you want low or no rooster with enough bow lift to carry your boat to its top speed.

I still love seeing any boat with a wall of water following it but normally the fastest boats have very low tails .
