We pulled a boat out of the woods, Don't know what it is?

Back when it was built lots of hulls got copied. So you might see the same design with four different companies.

$ SOLD $

My boss made the deal today. He paid $300 bucks for it and want's me to show him how to restore it. Cool, now I get to tell him what to do for a change:D

That is going to be one sleek boat when its done.:lol:
NIce find. It reminds me of my Allison...Ive got alot of work ahead of me. Im sure Ill have some questions for you when the fun begins:rof:

Jerk around boats

My boss is not only my boss but he is also a friend of 20 years. The only thing we don't really see eye to eye on is boats. He is a big time fisherman. His boat is a 21" Gambler bass boat with a 250XB merc. 12" jackplate, trim on the wheel, hot foot etc. etc. I have to say it looks cool as hell and runs over 80 mph. He says and I quote "If it's not a fishing boat it's just a jerk around boat" Well now, Mr fishing boat man just invested in a classic jerk around boat that needs a total restoration. I think he may have changed his mind some, I love to fish but you don't need to jig and pig or bump stumps all day to have a good time. What was it that Kip once said, an 80 mph bowrider with a swim ladder, how cool is that:thumb:

Rare One

I have looked all over the place and still can't find much information on the old Sleek Craft Kauai. I did find one over on S&F. The owner said they were rated for 175 hp and they did not come with a coast guard data plate. We have a 250 XB that we want to use on it :eyecrazy: WOW THAT WILL BE CRAZY FAST:eyecrazy:

WOW

I found out about a man over on S&F who still builds and sells the 1970's Sleekcraft SST 20' tunnel V's. That's really cool. The SST is a smooth looking boat. It's not a Checkmate but it's smooth.:)

On my 85 marlin i had a 200hp merc and a land@sea jack plate. The transom was almost 2 times the thickness of stock as well as having extra bracing internaly. The boat was incredibly stable, at 70mph you could let go of the wheel. i that it would have handle more power easily. The 250 xp should be perfect for that sleek craft. ya may want to stiffen that transom . ill try to find some pics of my old boat .

STRONGER TRANSOM

Sounds cool Aaron love to see some pics of that boat. We plan on adding transom knees and have them run so far forward that they will become part of the rear sun deck and back seat assembly as well as tie them into the stringer.

Wicked the allison is a 1978 ss-20. Its pretty rare from what I can tell. I dont know what it's rated for but Im hoping to someday hang a E tec or optimax on it and do a custom flame paint job. you gotta love the older race boats

Allison

Boston, I think your Allison will make a fun and fast classic that will turn heads on the water. Now all we need to do is find the time to get started on all of our project boats. Keep us up to date on that one.
