Starlight/starliner and pulsare 21.
Differences between them in handling, rough water and general impressions of them. I have driven a s5arflight but never a pulsare.
Thanks.

I only have smooth water/small lake experience: a solid mount motor Pulsare versus a fishing motor Starflight (both 225 hp). Even though they have very different bottom designs, I couldn't feel any difference in those smooth conditions that I couldn't contribute to the motor mounts. Both hulls rode the same and had similar speeds. This was a back-to-back comparison.

Hopefully someone will chime in that's driven both in rough water.

MY experience is both on the Ohio River and Lake Cumberland. I had the same 250 ProXs on both a Starliner and 2 different 2100br Pulsares. The Starliner is definitely roomier, and I think better looking, but beyond those points, and of course this is my humble opinion, the Pulsares ran faster and handled better and handled rough water much better. When my son and our friend had Pulsares, I could never determine why I could not keep up or out run them in the liner when I had more power, and then I drove one. I sold the liner and bought a Pulsare. Again, just my opinion, and as for speed, with the same engine, same prop, 77 in the liner, and 82 in the Pulsare.

Both are fine for a choppy lake but they are too light for big open water like the Great Lakes or running offshore.

I had a Pulsare and loved it but if I was going to do it again I'd take an older refurbed flight as I think they are just "Old School Cool".

I've owned both, but my experience is on inland lakes with 3' being the absolute max chop we get on our lake. I would hesitate to take my Starliner in anything bigger than 2.5'...I'd push a 2400 to 4'...just my opinion.

The boats are similar but do have some differentiators. The Pulsare is wider and has a pad. The Starliner is narrower, with a stepped hull, without the pad. I think my Starliner is easier to drive fast than the Pulsares. They handle the "rough" stuff the same. Neither hull is slow, but I believe the Pulsare is the faster hull. Both hulls are family friendly in the BR versions, but the Pulsare will have more space due to the extra beam. The close deck versions of eachhas a lot less space. Both come with pylons and make a similar wake for skiing...not bad, but not great.

Both hulls are easily pulled with a half ton truck or smaller. I'm not sure why they put dual axle trailers under these...kind of overkill in my opinion.

Thanks for all the reply's! Deadrise on a Pulsare is? I do not see it on their website. Has anyone driven a Pulsare and a Linder style boat, ie Superboat, Challenger, Shadow Tuff and how do the two compare, ride wise? I have owned A Superboat (2), Velocity, Hustler and Progression buy at this point in my life I need a bowrider so my options are limited to 21 or 24 Pulsare or go to a bigger I/O boat. I have a very low hour 300X.

I own a pulare 2100br and previous a spectra 201. I have loved both these hulls and they perform great and are very versatile. If you compare them to a tuff (which I can since In have driven a few and run against a few). The tuff 21 outboard is faster and more capable in rough water. Other Linder designs are similar but I can't compare all. I know the original challenger is also faster than a checkmate in most but not all configurations.

With all this being said, checkmate 2100 is fast, stable, practical and roomy. My opinion is that if you want a fast V boat the Tuff is the right choice. But if you need speed space, boarder, ski and all round easy boat to drive he Pulsar 2100br is a perfect match.

I think you're the first person I've heard say the Pulsare BR us roomier that the Starliner, Sam.

If you end up going 24 I would sell mine with out power. It's a 2011 with a 2007 300xs. I can't help your thread in comparison with the other hulls you mentioned. I can say the 2400 has more room then the 2100 and a way better rough water ride. I think it's a better watersports hull also. My 2400 gets on plane better and will maintain slower speeds then my 2100 did.

Not looking for top end speed, been there. I would not expect it ride or perform like the Linder hulls. Need a bowrider that can handle 2's without chipping teeth. I guess I need to bay test a Pulsare. Still looking for deadrise on the pulsare. Does anyone know?

If that's the case try to get a 2400 if you can swing it. More room, better ride and they still run upper 70's with 300hp.
