My 08 - 2100BR Project

First off - Thanks to all who have been helping with info on my boat project I have needed!
Thought I would post a few pics along the way as I finish this project up. I bought this boat about a month ago. It is a 2008 that never got sold, the dealer neglected the boat by leaving it outside uncovered.
I have pretty much finished up the exterior at this point. I had to buff the top of the boat to get the shine back, installed a new black bumper rail to replace the faded red to pink one, installed a couple side pop up cleats, pulled all the windows out and tinted them, installed new aluminum wheels including a new spare on trailer and fabricated a craddle to hold it on trailer, replaced some rusted parts on the trailer ect. I am waiting for carpet to come from checkmate at this point and am changing out the faded red carpet to charcoal gray, the seats all cleaned up pretty good, also will be replacing the faded radio face plate, a few faded trim pcs ect. and last but not least will be upgrading the sterio system.

Wow fantastic looking boat, really like the color combination. Nice job on the spare tire holder also.

It looks great.

It's hard to believe it has ever been anything but mint. :thumb:

I looks like you have a nice shop, to work on it in.

I also wanted to send out a thank you to you for joining our supporter's group - I appreciate your kind support. :)

I am sure you got a good deal, but shame on the dealer for neglecting a new boat like that.

They should be cut from the dealer network.

I wonder how much water got to the lower hull?:sssh:

Nice job bringing her back.

Nice. Was it discounted much for the neglect?

Yes it was discounted, 25,000 off suggested new MSRP. I am sure you can all do the math there. Leaves me some room to invest some money into it and have it perfect. Other than gas expense and 26 hours of my life to go get it and come home I have only invested about $800 more dollars into it so far and that includes all the new carpet that I havent received yet. I am suppose to have full warrranty on boat and motor as if purchased brand new so hopefully I never to need to find out if there is any issues there. I did test run it for its first trip on the water and all seems perfect other than it starts to Chine at about 65 mph. I will address those issues this winter / spring and maybe pony up for a 10'' hyd jack and new prop.
As far as the dealership goes Mike at checkmate told me they are no longer a dealer. What a shame though this was 1 of 5 new mates they did this to.

I was a little worried about the hull issue also. I spoke with Doug the owner of C-mate. He told me there wouldnt be any issues with the hull as long as the plug wasnt left it and it froze or something. When I got there the plugs were out of all the boats and could see no damage or cracks from anything like that. Also I am not that sure it even gets that cold there. That being said HOPEFULLY there will be no issues!
I did put a floor jack under the trailer jack and lifted the tongue to the moon and no water came out so it appears to be dry.

1 of 5?? Do they still have the other 4? I'd def be interested @ 25k off...

There was a 2400LD and 2 - 2000BRs left. I worked them over alittle bit on the 2000s for I thought I would rebuild one or both and resell. They didnt want to cut the deal on them that they did for me on the 2100 for some reason. I think they are still very well priced though and should clean up just like this one with some elbow greese and time.

PM or post info please! :eyecrazy:

The 2400 has a 250HO Evenirude on it and is a pretty sweet looking boat and the 2000s had 150HOs on them both nice looking boats also. Last time I spoke with them they quoted me $30k on the 2400 and I think $22-23K on the 2000s. If someone wants the dealer name you can PM me I will sure give you the name and number and contact.
I did look at all 3 of these boats briefly and they appeared to be basically the same shape as mine. But some cleaning, buffing, carpet and if you really wanted it brand new Seat Skins and you would have basically a brand new boat.

i bought mh2508 11 year old pulsare boat, this boat looked like it just rolled off the showroom floor (and still does) he has a way of bringing out the best in a project, nice job mike, do you finally have the boat you can keep for a while (for now anyway)

Wow good to hear from you Rob! I just thought of you this a.m. I never heard back from you after you bought it and was hoping all was well with you and my old boat. I was wishing I wouldnt have sold that after I built that Skeeter but I am back to Checkmate again now.

boat is everything i'd hope for, even the wife likes it (didnt think that would happen) had a good trip home, only thing i've done is cleaned the carbs, new battery and prop, i'm in the boat at least twice a week, i tell people its a 99 model and they just say "no way" people always have nice things to say about it, all i can say is the previous owner took great care of her

sorry for not getting back w/you,

1- computer
2- teenage son
3- computer trashed
4- lost everything
5- son now has is own computer

ps: as with anything, will keep this boat, buuuuuuut maybe looking for
a 24LD in near future, so if find one and bring it back to life call me

How come you had to go thru the carbs? hope there wasnt a problem, it ran flawlessly for me for all those years.
PS - how do you like those EyeBrows I fabricated and put on the windshield? I could actually wear a ball cap in that boat after putting those in. I should have pattened them and sold to checkmate - haha! I be making a set for this boat this winter once I get the seats cut down to where they need to be.
