My new enchanter!

I see that there was some truth to the rumour. I like it. The pictures I've seen so far scream "Drive Me". Looks like it is in really nice shape. Right now, since it sounds like it is in original condition, do you think a beat up little Playmate could even keep up with it? You're a Yup.

Its a 65mph boat. Jim can you do that:cheers:

Congrats! I guess everything happens for a reason. You wasted all that time going to look at that other boat but now you've been rewarded with that beautiful Enchanter. Leaving it alone is definitely a good call, stock=reliability.

I believe you when you say there won't be another stroker motor going in, :poke:but I can't see the name Brian and the words leave it stock in the same sentence. I know it will get some loving treatment to add a little H.P.

The flake looks beautiful! I can't wait to see it glistening in the KY sun! That is a great find of an unmolested classic. That is hard to find anymore. You will love it I'm sure!

OK, with the addition of the swimstep, stove, furnace, fridge, bath addition, big stereo, and power steering, not to mention the pole holders, down riggers, and kicker motor, and removable fishin chair, she's still good for 35mph or so. Strip some of that stuff out of there, and I'm sure we'll see another 5 or 6. With a hurricane tailwind, who knows? Might even be able to rig up a tow rope while YF aint lookin....

Still sitting here waiting to get dropped off to my engine builder to make sure everything is ok with it....

I don't know how hot the fire was, but the short block parts and heads are probably salvageable. Obviously it should get a new set of gaskets/valve seals, but if I was in your position I would totally refresh it with new bearings too. If the oil got way to hot and coked up in a main bearing or an oil passage or something you could be looking at some really expensive paper weights if you tried to run it as is.

What type of rotation assembly was in it?

ON topic: New boat looks kick ass! :bigthumb: stock is nice, all of my modded cars/boats are worked on more than they get used

Motor was not hurt. None of the paint on the block was even damaged. Valve covers are warped a little bit and dist housing is kinda fried. I had the garden hose squirting on the motor almost the entire time it was on fire till fire department was pulling the hoses out. It has a scat 400 crank, 4043 I-beam rods, and forged 10.75-1 pistons. Hot tanks it, inspect heads to make sure there is no warping, slap new bearings if they are not 100%, regasket it and bolt it back together!
