(SOLD)FOR SALE 1986 Exciter 18'-6" with 1986 Mercury XR2

Well I got you all beat, I've driven it for a half hour or so. The hydraulic steering is awesome, the paint is gorgeous, the seats are super comfortable as they are out of a new Pulsare and that XR2 simply rips. I think the weight would be 2500ish and not over 3000. The boat is 1000 pounds dry, 500 for the motor, 750 for the trailer, add in a few hundred pounds of stuff and your still well under 3000.

Sold another one this am, my (would have been) winter project 73' Marlin Gemini with original 135 e-rude. So..my excuses are getting thinner. I have a short list of other mates within a 3 hr radius i'm planning to look at (took the rest of the week off to get-r-done...) Your boat seems to be a magnet, I've been looking like crazy closer to home - but keep ending up back here :-)

I've seen this boat in person and I think anybody looking for something in this size and price range would be nuts to pass it up. Don't let a little detail like distance make you pick a boat that's not as nice. You can be there and back in the same weekend.

Ill second that!

Looked at dozens of boats the last week, and made the mistake of taking a ride in a 21 pulse. Boat was a rag, but the wife fell in love with the crazy-smooth ride. So her ultimatum is save up some more $ and buy a nice 21 ! So, I guess that's my plan. Also, I feel like I'm a traitor, but since I can't be "boatless" for the remainder of the short summer, I found and purchased a nice little glastron cvx17 that I'm sure I'll be able to flip at a decent profit next spring. Build quality sure ain't no Mate, the glass and gellcoat is hainous up close, but it's surprizingly quick an looks great at about 20 feet. My garmin says 55 mph with an aluminum 19p 3 blade on a 115 tower (over revving like crazy! On the hunt for a nice 21p now... )

You boat is absolutely gorgeous, I'm sure this decision will nag at me... Hell, maybe I'll throw a for sale sign in the cvx for Hardy hot boat wknd coming up soon to see if I can turn a quick buck, who knows, I might be back.

Thanks guys! Undecided on what will be next. Definitely something with a cabin and inboard. Boat ended up going to lake hopatcong.

Congrats Spencer - will hopefully see it around during the season.
Someone got one hell of a package!
