CHECKMATE OWNERS RALLY 2015

How far is it from Bronston ky to grinder hill by car.Reason I'm camped there and we put in at Burnside and boat to the other end,but don't want to make that trip every day especially return at night.

My parents live just south of Burnside (about 4 miles south of the State Park) and it takes me right at an hour to get to the dam, so probably about 45min. to Grider. I would say you are only 30-40 minutes from Grider to your campground. Just go east on 90 and you will see the signs!! Can't wait to see your boat in person! You talked to my Dad at Lees Ford a year or two ago. He has a Baja that Kunkels just did a bunch of work to.

I'm coming down 71 out of ohio, any of you guys who make this run have any suggestion on a route to grider.

71 to 75 South, take exit 62 in KY, RT 461 (Renfro Valley/Mt. Vernon), take a right at the bottom of the ramp and follow 461 till it T's into 80. Turn right onto 80. Follow 80 till you come to the first traffic light. Turn left at that light onto 914. Follow 914 until I believe the 3rd traffic light which should be 1247. Turn left onto 1247. Stay on 1247, it will turn into 90. Follow 90 for quite a few miles (approx 40), then turn right onto 127. You will have seen plenty of signs by now to get you the rest of the way.

I am 1/2 north of mansfield if we pull out by 7 or 8 Thursday i will not hit cinci till late morning. I am guessing 3-3.5 hours just a guess.

I know there will be a Checkmate houseboat all weekend at 76 falls for all to gather at. Fri evening meet and greet , Sat dinner at the houseboat after a run to another marina for lunch. There will be factory reps and Checkmate swag also at 76 falls. Also most are staying either at Grider motel or several botels being rented at the marina also. Will be a great time !!

What day are you headed down? We will be leaving Cincy Thursday morning.

Chance's are that I'll get with Brain on the exact times you guys are going to hit the road, I'll plan on being at that first rest stop in Kentucky with a full tank waiting for a call that your about to pass and I'll just fall in behind and follow you guys in. It worked ounce, maybe we can get it to work again.

How is the morning rush hour traffic in Cincinnati? I am trying to decide whether to push it to get to Florence, or stop before in maybe Miamisburg or Jeffersonville. Any thoughts from those in the know? I'm a little nervous of getting to Grider at midnight

7:00 until about 8:30 am is a cluster from the I 74 interchange to the river. If passing though through in the evening 4:30 to 5:30 is also a mess. Expect up to 1/2 hour to travel 5 miles. There's construction everywhere just before downtown. Normally when towing we take 275 around but the bridge over the river is down to 1 lane for construction so that's also a mess. I'm planning to leave between 8:00-9:00 in the morning depending on how quick I can get Karen out of the house.

Unfortunately Stephanie and I will no longer be able to attend the Rally this year. My father had a hear attack this morning and is in the Intensive Care Unit at the hospital. Please send your thoughts and prayers our way.

Ron

Stay strong for your Dad Ron, sorry to hear this tragic news. You and Steph will be missed and many prayers will be headed north for your family.

LC is at 724 currently. Last weekend we were at 716. Went up a foot since yesterday. Certainly enough to cause a mess !!!

Didnt get a chance to get out this weekend due to the regular monsoons that dominated the weather down here. Were still holding @ 724 with more rain on the way for Mon & Tues. However the forecast looks very good Thurs. thru Sun.

From the few people I talked to that were out this weekend said it was a little worse than normal, but still very manageable. That spot at the launch ramp tends to catch and hold debris. They have a barge with a small crane and wood chipper on the lake that I'm sure has been brought in to clean the mess at the launch ramp. My guess is it will be fine by next weekend. Just have to keep your eyes open!!
