Thunderbolt 4 Advancing Timing Too Much Too Soon

I have only owned one boat that had the Thunderbolt ign. so I am by no means a expert but I seem to remember the module letting it advance fairly quickly or as soon as it starts getting more fuel just like you are describing. What is your engine doing that makes you think you have a timing...

    Side vent question.

Thank you so much Jimway, I was actually hoping you would comment on this subject. I knew you were the only one that could explain this so eloquently and put my mind to rest on this matter.

Thanks for taking a look for me Keith. The more ya think about the more it makes sense. Never even gave it a thought before. Maybe Ill be as fast as some of those Facebook boats now.

    Side vent question.

Was waxing the boat today and one of my fellow boating buds stopped by and he says all your vents on both sides of the boat are all facing forward. So I say yea so what, He says one side suppose to let air in and the other out. I told last year when I buffed the boat I took all that stuff off...

    Attn; keith4216 looking for decal.

Thanks for the info Keith. There is a store across from the Rail Road depot Im working out of now called Sign Pro and they said they could make it in two pieces and when joined together I wouldn't see or notice. I didn't like that idea. Maybe EZ will see this and chime in. Out of all the...

    Attn; keith4216 looking for decal.

Can not find this decal, maybe you have seen or made one before. I haven't seen this decal on other Cmates in my area. Called Cmate but no luck. The buffer hasn't been to kind to it and I would like to replace it. I try to be careful when using the buffer but sometimes it has a mind of its own.

Does anybody know the purpose of this switch

Looks like it Might be your engine kill switch. If it is it should have a lanyard that slips around your wrist that kills the motor if ya get thrown out or flip the boat. Safety feature. Will it kill the engine when you flip it.

    What carb to use

The power valve screws in to the metering block which is located between the float bowl and the main carb body. Its about the size of a quarter. Don't know what carb you have but I would guess ether a 600 or 650 so it probably only has one. Some of the bigger carbs have two. The power...

    What carb to use

I always liked Holley carbs but I know some don't and their much easyer for me to work on. Could just be a blown power valve which is pretty common in Holleys and you never will get it tuned until its replaced. Also how did you narrow your problem to the carb. Have you already done a...

I/O engine oil changing kit. What do you use?

Three years ago when I first bought my 251 Convincor I went out and got the one that sucks through the dip stick and it worked well but I always thought I might leaving some oil in the pan with this system. Now all this time I saw this hose laying down in the bilge but I just thought it was...

Carb engine choke / starting issues

If it has the Rochester on it and it probably dose theres one easy and really cheap thing to check. Rochesters have a real small filter in the carb right where the fuel line screws in and it has a little rubber like check valve on the end that stops the fuel from draining back in to the tank...
