12' 9" hydrostream/ anyone else have one?

I bought a 1994 12' 9" x-stream/ hydrostream a couple of years ago and totally restored it, new interior, gauges, carpet, bezels, the only thing I didnt do is paint b/c it is in great shape. the story on this boat is back in the early 1990's when hydrostream sold out, the factory was broken in to and molds were stolen and taken to canada and manufactured for 2 years under the name X-stream untill they were shut down. This all came from mastercraft about 2years ago b/c supposably they are the ones that own hydrostream now. This boat is very very rare and Ive done a lot of research on this boat and personally ive never seen one like it. Its 3 a seater, and i have a 50hp. johnson on it. The boat is IDENTICAL to hydrostream. It runs in the 50mph range, and ive never messed with prop change or motor height. This is a FUN boat, alot of people ask if i want to sell it, and i tell them no not today. i bought for a cloudy day boat and weekday boat. I also have a 1998 convincor gtx 251 classic with a 540ci in it that i built. Just wondering if any body has any other info on this boat! Thanks for reading

Sounds like a neat boat! I also owned an X-Stream, mine was the Valero. The story I've heard was quite different. X-Stream made boats in Canada with permission from Hydrostream. Greg Terzian (owner of www.ScreamandFly.com) owns the other X-Stream I know of, and his is the V-King. My Valero was the sister ship to his V-King, both bought from the same dealer in New York.

thats good info, I dont know the model of the boat. the title just says x-stream. i dont know to much about the hydrostreams, ive always owned checks,(4). I guess i will have to start doing some more research on it, its been a couple of years since ive done any.I wonder what the guy from mastercraft was talking about? have you ever seen the 12 footer? and do you know how many might be out there? I really need to get pics on here, its a sweet little boat

The Valero and V-King are both 18' boats. I forgot the name of your boat, but the boys at Scream and Fly would know the answer.

To add to the story, when Hydrostream went 'back' into business in the states, they bought or rented an old Mastercraft facility. They built boats there a couple years, but not many were buying so the company kinda folded again and is currently listed as being in California again. The owners are trying to sell off a few left-over new boats, they crop up on Ebay once in a while.

Just bought a 12' baja scat cat. The owners buddy had a X-Stream sitting in the barn with a 40hp merc hanging off the back of it.

their pretty cool boats, i almost bought a scat cat before i bought the x-stream. I originally bought the x-stream for my wife so she could have fun with it, because she didnt feel comf. driving the 251. my x-stream has a 50h.p johnson on it.:thumb:

Voo Doo

What you have there is a Canadian Edition Voo Doo.
Can't tell for sure, but it could be a mini.
Hydrostream.org will answer questions you have pertaining to history, set up, etc.
