1978 Trimate III Resto all most complete

Here goes.

I go on Craigslist and find this 19'3 bowrider I knew nothing about but loved the look.

I talk with the man and pick it up @700

Well then motor ran like crap so we decided a rebuild to the power head was key.
The compression was low on more then one piston.

Well while I was waiting on the return of the motor I would redo the floor.

Had a few weak spots so I figured its nothing other then time and money, lol lets get to work.

Now the paint is dull on the top in the pictures so I did a re-spray to the burgundy and color sanded for a smooth blend into the gold flake.
re cleared and new boat look.
I will post pictures of it and the new floor tomorrow.

I am waiting on new carpet and the completion of the rebuilt powerhead and then the lake.

The engine builder is going to do a few things to the PH to increase the out put,he is running the same motor on his bass boat and is smoking stock 175 merc's with the same size prop.

Things I have on order

Garnet Aqua Turf carpet from West Marine 8' wide
Jensen Marine cd player/mps /who knows what else
4 new speakers on the way.
Bimini top

I am going to have all the padding and vinyl redone to match the new captain chairs and will have the rear bench and open bow done after this season so the interior will be new.

I am thinking of cutting down the windshield but not 100% sure.

Looking good, the windshield was gut down on my V-mate II and it looked great. I think more will follow if they see what it looks like shorter. Check out some of my old threads.

I think your boat looks great.... I think any mods you do to individualize your boat to you is great.. If you have any questions ~ask~ and anyone on here will try to help you with a anwswer.. Keep up the great work.. :)

Just got home from a week in Florida boating and playing @ the beach with the family but when I got home my carpet was in so its in the boat and pictures will be posted tomorrow.

I put the rear section of carpet last night and will be doing the front part today, before I cement anything down I am letting the dew and then the sun shape it to the floor.

But it is very pleasing to be at the end of the floor repair and about to bring the boat for the re install of the rebuilt powerhead and carbs.

I have just finished replacing the floor in my 78 convincor. I have the exact windshield as yours, but mine is very "cloudy" and has a couple of small cracks. I would be interested to know more of the cutting down or are there newer models of the more squared off windshield and frame that I could use.

The interior in your trimate III is the same as my convincor other then mine is an I/O.
Any input would be greatly apprieciated.

Where did you get your carpet?

I just did the floor on my TRIMATE III this spring. Still don't have new carpet, where did you get your carpet? The boat handles a lot different without the wet foam and soaked plywood floor.

What it the horse power rating on your boat?

Dave
