" For Sale" 1988 Checkmate Starflite -project-

Bristol is about 4.5hrs from here. I'm sure one of us can get it if needed. I heard Brian has plenty of free time on his hands.

BK how are you getting Melvins predictor from Toledo to you? If you are going to pick it up can you could leave this boat at Melvins. thats a little over 3 hours from me.

While I'd like to get it, not sure if it's going to happen. Have to see what I can finagle, part of the problem is I'm not inclined to drive 35 hrs to get a $3K boat... don't make no sense, I'd spend $1k in diesel. :brickwall:

Talked with Trey(caddman) last night he would like to buy Josh's flite, if we can make arrangements to move the boat from state to state thru members if they're willing to help. He didn't realize all the (dirty) work is done just needs a paint job and interior.

ALLLLMOST all the dirty work is done. The rear/new lipless splashwell is solid, but needs some more glass work and a lot of TLC finishing.

Forgot about the lipless splashwell, he's got the warehouse space for finishing the flite.

Considering where I am on My trimate-III there is not much work left on the flight...but It does mean i have two boats to finish....But the Flight is the one I wanted for a long time.. so the Trimate-III will be a finish and sell boat... unless someone wants to buy as is...Ill finish getting the floors in before I sell at least..but probably finish it totally....just cause I dont like things incomplete....

Sure ya don't need a 225 Optimax to stick on the back of it too ?? ;)

Not sure the logistics.. sooo what now?

what parts do you have or need to get boat back together? i have seen any of the Interior pieces well enough to tell there condition... no big deal, but trying to get a scope of work as what is needed to complete the boat...Obviously Robbie's trying to work logistics out....I hope this works out! I guess im gonna have to hurry and get my boat together and sell it... ha ha... I dont need two projects but i have the room for them....

Boat is "together" top is placed back on and is on the trailer. Interior, back seat is junk, need to build new seat frames. Front buckets are pretty worn as well. Could refurb the seats and recover I guess. Rear swim platforms, bolts, brackets, cooler lids, etc are all in a rubbermaid tub in da bote. Still needs the rear lipless splashwell finished, route out spider cracks, fill, sand boat, paint or gel. Still plenty of work left. :bigthumb:

From what i am reading on the logistics of getting the boat you all are coming up in Indiana with a small hole. I would be more than willing to help this boat thru this hole if its in my neck of the woods. Let me know if i can be of any assistance. My zip is 47920 and i am never afraid of a bit of a road trip!!:bigthumb:

Thanks Dream!!! I'm waiting on a PM back from John and have talked to YF88 about moving the boat from state to another. We are trying to get the boat into Ohio where YF88 lives, from there either me or Caddman will pick it up.
