" For Sale" 1988 Checkmate Starflite -project-

What your setup and speeds you getting? i guess i need to start researching....lol.. I still want it here before I dig to deep...lol

Carbed 1999 Johnson 200 with 5.5" jackplate and a 24 Raker gets me 62 or 63 @6000 rpm with a moderate to light load. Prop works best about 3.5" below the V. With some more set back and a more top end focused prop it probably has 65 or 66 in it but it comes out of the hole damn good with the Raker as it sits and I don't have any reinforcement on the transom at all and its all original. Planning on trying a 25 Tempest next weekend to see what number it runs.

John

Getting tired of seeing the boat in the drive....

Really can't/won't go under $1K. $1.2K w/mag wheels.

Worth at least that parted out....

John doesn't go back to work until the 14th, so we need to find out what his schedule is. His part helping gets the boat half way to SC. See post #66 last sentence.

Gotcha... whelp... ok. If I need to get the boat to bismarck I need some notice. 6 hr trip up there. :)

Soon as John goes back to work we will see what his schedule is. Then we'll line up everyone helping and try to make this smooth as possible. Is that ok with you?

I did at first, but after John posted he could help get the boat to Bristol, Indiana figured we got a chance to make this work out. I just want to see it finished!!!!:thumb: The plan is for John to pick the boat up from you, carry it to Indiana then get Dave or Brian to pull the boat back to his house. From there either myself or Trey will pick it up and bring to SC. Unless we can find someone to pull it to Charlotte then I'll take it the rest of the way. :thumb:

Question on the windshield... you still have it? i know you were planning to not put it on if my memory is correct...it also was broken frame?

Yes still have it, it's in the box-o-parts... if you look at my resto thread there is a good picture of both side bottom aft supports that are cracked. Easy tig weld fix or even some jb weld and sand pretty.

I definatly want it, but we are waiting on Robbies contact to let us know when...he can do his leg of getting it to east coast...
i have another friend who getting ready to vacation in your area so if i can get hime to do it it might be faster or maybe not i dont know...

Josh I sent John a pm to find out his scheduling. Once he confirms his route/schedule we'll set up a time that works for both of you to pick up the boat. PM me for payment details.

Working on it, like I said I don't know when I can do it, I only know where I'm going about 4 days ahead of when I leave, boss knows I want a trip out that way, hurry up and wait. :bigthumb:
