I am guessing by location, it was ran in salt water? If so, there is no closed cooling so anything that the water traveled through, would be shot with that many hours on it. If fresh water, IMO, it would need a complete refresh of the motor. A powerboat motor goes through more abuse than say a cruiser would.

As for price, it is not hateful. I'd offer $10-12k range.

The 253 is a awesome boat. Does good in rough. Very capable of great speed numbers with upgrades. If your looking for a 30' boat, your not going to be 100% satisfied with a 25'er. Then again, you will not find a 30' for that kind of money unless its a real POS!

Just my $.02 :bigthumb:

The white spots on top of the motor are from salt. Thats the outside just from the water spray/ salt in the air. I would imagine the inside is worse. Just something to consider, look at closely before buying.

Thanks for your input guys. The ad was reposted yesterday. I hope to look at it on Saturday and try to look it over good. A check with DNR shows it regestered in Easley which would be a fresh water area. Interested in knowing how it ended up here. With the ICW and Waccamaw river, we can boat around here and not touch salt water, but I would llike something that can go offshore for SCUBA. Thanks again guys.

OUCH!!!!!

Finally got to look at this boat today. The interior and cockpit look real nice. Seats and coushins are not faded, ripped or rotted. The engine has good compression and the dealer said that it started first try. He did say that it showed signs of having set for an extended time and that they did a complete flush on it. It will need the gimble and the sea pump replaced.
The black on the trailer is a spray on bedliner material and appears to have been applied with the boat on the trailer.
Now the worst of it. The boat has been hit on the port side and had a 5 foot gash in it. The hull was badly patched. The core was not! Still splintered.
The bank is aware of this and is taking offers. Could be a good project for someone with fiberglass and core experence and the equipment to get to it.

With that kind of damage their asking price is way too high, unless someone is crazy they will get no offers. It should be sold at salvage level pricing knowing the motor and drive are pretty much worn out.
