2008 ZT 280 Opinions

I am looking at purchasing a 2008 ZT 28O with 496 MAG HO

I have always liked the layout and look of the boat but am curious to hear
what you guys have to say about them. Handling, ride, etc...

Going to see boat this weekend, so any input helps.

Thanks in advance.

It all depends on what your expectations are and if the boat is what you want. I have seen many different opinions on this boat and it really boils down to if it makes you happy. I myself like the Convincor better as far as performance but have heard the Zt is more spacious in the cabin. I have watched the Convincors outperform the Zt in rough water conditions but I like them both. I believe the 280zt is a 26ft boat plus the 2ft platform. Just my 2 cents.Good luck with it and take it for a nice long test ride.

I loved my 94 Enforcer, not the fastest boat on the water by any means but layout and comfort was great. ZT seems similar but newer with a bit more sporty hull.

Yes they look very nice . I have never checked out a Zt cabin but def a great looking rig. check out Oso Checkmate section and also many opinion over there.

That one at grand sports center?

If its that one it looks like a pretty nice boat!! My only concern would be the skeg guard. If the skeg is still in tack under it no big deal. If they used it to replace a broken off skeg I would make them repair it properly..

Was not as nice in person as I had hoped for. Cabin was wet and funky literally water under cushions, all interior was yellowing a bit all the screws fell out of the back seat and engine bulkhead. All things that can be fixed but not what I would expect for that price tag?

that's a shame, looks like a pretty boat...how about that 242 they have with the hp500 @ 19000...might be a nice alternative if you don't like the 280.

The zt280 is similar to the 259, and I love my 259 just run it over 60 at all times lol.

I was surprised the drop down bolster seats didn't tie into the funnels like my enforcer did. Left them sloppy when you rocked back n forth in them.

SO this boat still has my head stuck on it even after my disappointing first impression. The hull is in great shape, mechanically it is right on. the things
that bugged me could be easily repaired and the cabin can be dried out to remove the funk. Is there any wood used in 2008 that could have rotted if this boat sat REALLY wet as opposed to just damp storage.

Does 55K sound about right for 190 original hours on a 496 HO with Bravo XR Drive?

I like that one as well, just too far to roll the dice on a road trip with a trailer to see in person.

If you're serious about that one, I can check it out for you at LOTO.

Or you could buy my Convincor for a few more bucks. :D
