2010 Saginaw River plans

That weekend shouldn't be too bad.....usually just pull up to the dock, give them five bucks.....go to your slip, and your set. Of course then as the evening progresses.....it is a very short walk from that marina to the Midland St. bar district :banana:
5 bucks? Is that all it costs to overnight there? Or is that for the day/evening?

Hasn't it been over two years? I don't think it's the money that's holding this boat back- you still have the old motor? (Don't remember if you built up the old motor or started with a new one)

I was on the river a few times this year but when I blew a rear main seal, I fixed the seal, but she hurt the bearings when it blew and after a few times out after that it lost oil pressure completely and she started to knock........My buddy has most of my stock motor parts, I built what I had......almost completely a new motor by the time I was done......you know how that stuff goes.

heyo

i need some help with the lower unit on my 200GT, is that guy that works at Pier 7 still here?

vacation first two weeks in aug at higgins. water pigs. meh.

ONLY 1 MONTH AWAY!!!

So.... Get Your stuff ready!!!!!!!!!!
I want to be there... we will try to make it. Gotta talk to the GF about it. I think she's off that weekend... I'll double check.. hope she is- cuz this should be some fun!

If we can make it... where can we stay?

I might have to bring the 24 if the ECM isn't back for the 21 by then..:(

I can look up some hotel numbers if you would like in Bay City?

Should be a fun weekend I think the pig gig is also that weekend.

Just have to hope we get good weather

I definitely recommend Bay City over Saginaw. If you are OK with driving a little ways south before you crash the next big places would be Fenton, Brighton, and Ann Arbor.

Looking forward to this get together, sounds like it should be a lot bigger than last year.

I Got a yard you can pitch a tent, or whatever. I would offer you a bed or a couch ...but... i dont even have a bed there at the new place yet. If all goes well i may be livin' there the time, its kinda up in there air yet. But if you need a plae to park your boat or your arse for the night lemme know, I got room in the barn if ya need it. But they did install the carpet today, so ill have some soft carpet to lay on.

Depending on the weather im going to try and be out there for a few hours on Saturday the 7th . Where is the best launch or a launch period ? What time does every one start showing up ?

Either the Lee St launch or the launch at the Zilwaukee bridge are good. Those are run by the city of Saginaw and Zilwaukee Township respectively, so state park stickers or boating access site stickers are no good.
I'm planning to show up around 10 or so.

The best launch to use is at the end of Lee street in Saginaw, it is either 5 or 7 dollars. It is located just south of M46 on the west side of the river. It is much larger and has lots better parking than the one in Zilwakee.

The launch in Zilwakee is ok, its pretty close to I-75, but it is lots smaller. There is also a party store near by for last minute supplies, also has a pretty nice bathroom.

I use the Saginaw one because it makes the run up to Bay City about twice as long.

Not sure on a time yet, all depends when I roll out of bed.

sounds good . I took next friday off so I can get up to get my boat & make sure I have every thing .

:poke:

There is really no reason to rush in the morning. There is never any one out on the river til noon or later. Most people stay away so the fishermen can do thier thing.

Now I'm not sure about making it.... gonna be down at Cumberland the following weekend with the 24. :(

No news yet on the 21s ECM... I'm hoping to get that back this week so I could take it with me up there and keep the 24 ready for lc.

Information on the Lee St launch, also known as the Rust Ave launch:

http://www.mcgi.state.mi.us/MRBIS/bas_identify.asp?sid=A-73-007

Has the ownership changed recently?

I couldn't find any good information on the Zilwaukee launch, but I seem to remember from the last time I was up there that it was either owned or administered by Zilwaukee Twp. If they don't, who does? It's obviously not any form of the DNR.

This will be the first, maybe last (hopefully not) trip to the river for me this year. I'm hoping to get plenty of time running to make some adjustments if need be. It'll make for a longer day, but I need the extra time on the water, not just a trip up and back.
