Have you worked with jets before? Done fiberglass work?
Just thinking theres still alot of work to change a hull to something it wasn't meant to be. I love the idea of custum work, but thats just what it is.
 
Seems to me most of the jet boats in the past were low-profile, while the Persuader is a tall/deep hull.

That being said, the current jet big boys (Sea Doo, Yamaha) are both making really big tall boats now, so the Persuader hull wouldn't seem so out of line above the water line.

Looking at the bottom of these boats in the showroom, they do differ from the Persuader hull in one key respect: The bottom of the V. The jet boats are all pretty flat back there, especially the twin engine jobs. The deadrise in the back is very shallow. Your Persuader deadrise is deep all the way back. I don't think it's even wide enough (as-is) to mount a jet intake grate.

Thoughts?
 
Please don't take this as a jab and someone correct me if I'm wrong but all else being equal (same hull, same weight, same engine) isn't a jet always slower? Just saying it seems like a lot of work just to decrease the performance of the boat.

John, how dare you confuse the issue with facts?
 
but when you need to run in shallow water to get to the deep water there is no substitute for a jet. and im not above reworking the whole bottom .the ultra is a similar hull with jets.

And while we are talking what is the plus and negative of a full epoxy lay up with vacume bagging and post cure?
 
Hey Bdusted, Shallow water capabilities of the jet came in handy this past summer after drawing attention of water constibles. I was able to put small amount of distance between myself and the law and then enter a shallow grassy area where apparently the Mate couldn't be seen from the main lake. They woulda been draggin some props tryin to go where I went. As I found out later, it seems that someone had lowered the speed limit to 45 mph on the weekends, but hadn't sent me the memo, can you imagine. What about building up the area right around the pickup into a small delta shape so that when you are at speed, only the delta shape is in the water.
 
My thoughts..why cut up a new boat?? Search the internets and find an old bow rider jet. It will have all the parts needed, do a restomod and run it. Should be a ton cheaper.

Very good idea. i can do that. and im making the boat from scratch the way I want it.just trying to figure out how i want it.lmao:brickwall:
 
And there is a swiss company making a twin jet set up with a single power plant.350 chevy.maybe twin turbo into gear reduction case into twin jets.single intake grate.i think this will be the set up.just need to sell some used boats to get it all done.
 
Didnt read previous replies thoroughly, may have been said before. I wouldn't even consider it. I own a 234 and it is a bit heavy and with a 23degree deadrise, cuts into the water pretty hard. At 70 though it does feel lighter but it takes some smoke to get these puppies up high out of the water. With 440hp right now, it's a fun boat but nothing eye watering. You'll probably need at least 600hp through a jet drive to get close to 70mph. I'd shoot for a 202 persuader. They are a good bit lighter, though roughly same hull design.
