Is he gonna get that Superboat done and back to Kunkel's soon? Did you say in a prior post that it might whistle?:rof:

Sounded like Kevin will be done by the first of the year.

Unfortunatly as of right now, the only whistling that will be coming from the Superboat will be me at all them pretty girls out on the lake...
Jason and I talked today, we're both hoping that the salt will get washed off the roads somtime after the new year and we can get it back to his place without the mess.

Yeah, I'm the jackass that is just hanging around to harass you rotten, slow poke, Checkmate owners:p
Oh wait, thats right... you don't even own one anymore- pretty sneaky how you keep under the radar with that old avatar. Man, we should team up or sumthin:devil:[/QUOTE]

We'll be on Torch / Elk / GT Bay all next year - putting the Camper and boat in Elk Rapids for the summer. I don't want to hear that you don't have the funds for the trip this year! At least I'd like to see you and ross run your boats - I'd be way...way........ way behind with the family in the stinkray. I probably won't even put the IMCO's on this year - need to do some other stuff before I pop for the right risers to make it work. But it'll still get me to the sand bar just fine - that's what counts on Torch.

I'll do what I can.... but I just can't hang with the big dogs yet..

I have also been told by a reliable source that Boatman is a good guy to deal with.

A gentleman indeed...I don't know what is going on lately though.

I thought Check This was back....

Winter time blues apparently.

Happy Holidays gentlemen.

Hey Nick, How did you come to determine there was a proplem? on the water? off the water? just happen to see it?

Hey Nick, How did you come to determine there was a proplem? on the water? off the water? just happen to see it?
Its always had one spot that has worried me since I've owned her- a screw that held the battery tray dimpled the bottom outward. I was really paranoid about it coming thru the glass and getting water into the wood. Also, there was part of the battery platform glass matting that had cracked. I didn't think it could be from any rot- everything looked and sounded great (still held my breath untill we found out its all solid on the bottom). She's always had some small stress cracks- and after Kevin made the determination about what was going on, it all makes sense. The small stress cracks didn't worry me at all... its a very light layup and I figured some of those are to be expected with time.

I decided while going under the knife, we should address any glass problems because the transom would have to be glassed anyways to fill the old tab holes. Also, after talking to Kevin- I wouldn't feel right running- or selling her, for that matter- knowing that it was flexing excessively.

I've ran her for a few years and been keeping a close eye on everything, no changes ever in cracks, or the batt platform. It felt solid and performed pretty good... but, my speed has never been as good as Gary's when he owned her. He had the motor built and saw 83 somthing gps for his best. Mine is 77.7- the flex probably explains the speed loss is what we are all thinking. Now the big question is: will I actually gain any speed after its all done?;)
