38 fountain... not so good driving...

Ya think maybe standing between the seats might have been a bad idea? Is it just me or are those drop out bolsters really low?

John

Go back to about 16 seconds in the full video to see a bad arse tri-toon. :)

God I need to hit the lottery and build one of them.

It looks to me as if they have the tabs set to low for the speed they were crusin. Trim tabs can cause this to happen without much notice. My K- planes will do this in certain conditions and keep you on your toes . Can be dangerous for sure.

One of my biggest boating fears is pushing the limit and getting my Wife hurt.

I run with some pretty fast boats (much bigger too) and sometimes I find myself pushing the envelope to try and keep up (as if I have any chance of hanging with the big boys). Obviously, it is not worth it.

It can happen to anyone of us. That video really hits home.

Thanks for sharing.

Word is ruff water with all the boats around them and hit a wake wrong. They got beat up pretty bad but it could have been worse. The girl in yellow bent the mess out of the throttles when she hit them.

A very interesting case study. So far I have not seen any personal floatation devices being worn. This is very poor judgement, in my humble opinion. Captain of vessel who is directly responsable for passengers safety not doing a very good job. In fact he might be poster child for This Months 'Too much boat and not enough driver' Award. Might just be the fastest drop to the floor that I've ever seen. Wonder if he was tryin to beat every one else down there? If that were a Checkmate, The captain would have been seated and probably leaning forward with speed... PS, I don't see a safety lanyard either. I do however see a light tap dance on the throttle right before it gets a custom form fitting...

When you are the one behind the wheel, all the responsibility lies on you. That being said, I fully blame the capt for this mess. He was obviously driving beyond his ability, and payed the price the hard way. It looked to me like he hit some large boat wake at a weird angle and cut the wheel at the same time and sent the boat flying sideways. He was rather on and off with the throttle too... I could be totally wrong with my theory, but either way he still screwed up:shakehead:

LOL the middle pic is priceless!

I watched it screen by screen and the weird part was that the driver did not even change his expression on his face as he fell. wonder if he was conscious when he fell?

Ive was riding in a 22 foot baja across lake Cumberland and had this exact thing happen. The boat took a nasty swap and threw everyone in the floor - including the driver with the boat still wide open. It dug in the water so bad it peeled the rubber off around the bump rail. Scared the hell out of us.

If you watch the horizen in the background it looks like they spun out at the end resulting in eveyone getting thrown. I know its not funny but I had to chuckle at sunglasses going everywere and the drivers expression as he was flying across the boat.

Im thinkin that the gal in the yellow suit is gonna be seein the dentist. I'm also thinkin that the guy in the blue shirt may have a gash on his forehead. I hope I'm wrong. Does anyone else think that the driver, although questionable on his vessel technique, is pulling off a pretty good Bruce Willis expression...Oh yeah, and how about BK and the loose top, bigger cans stuff, funny right there

Yes the dentist may be in order, glad the guys sitting on the pad got off or they would have been swiming. I just keep thinking thats a big boat for that to happen. The driver really sucked! Must have been those stupid left hand controls.

Yea, looks like too much boat for the driver. Some guy trying to look cool and show off. I am betting he will never forget that and neither will his passengers.

-Idiots just because they were not wearing PFD's or lanyard.

Yes, those Fountain bolsters are very low. I rode in a friend's and they did not feel reassuring in big waters. That is one good thing about CM's, they grip your midsection, right where you need the stability.
