540 EFI Build-up Thread

That was WAAYYYY too many oversights for anykind of machine shop --- thank god you didn't run many hours on the mota before any major damage occurred, and that you got it away from them boys in Mich and got it in hopefully much better hands with the guys in OH.
Good luck Ron, and get that thing making noise on the water again :D

Is that what you told the wife so you could build a little more motor.

No, unfortunately not ha-ha! But since im in there....... Last year was a disappointment but I was just happy to be back on the water. This year I should realize why I hemorrhaged money over this thing. I can't wait to push that loud stick forward. In the grand scheme, the extra 8 cu in is almost negligible but every little bit helps!

I finally got a few more hours worth of spare time to work on assembling this weekend. Friday evening and Saturday morning is all I had. Made good progress considering. Friday was assembling shortblock and Saturday was installing the heads and adjusting valvetrain. I still need to make a few tweaks to the guide plates for more clearance for the rocker trunnions on one side and re-adjust. Once my final exam if finished on Thursday, I should be making some real progress. Hoping to be water testing the week before the 4th of July.

Closer.....Warmer......

Hoping to finish up the wiring when I get home and drop her in the boat tonight. Had a couple small but manageable setbacks, problems were fixed but cost me about a day on my schedule. Back on track now. I will finish hooking everything up tomorrow along with the test firing. If all goes well on the water for Friday!
