well i am selling my boat. i am moving and will need the space and cash. its a 78 predictor with a 86 merc 200. its in good shape. seats are good. the bottom has some scuffs. i have fixed some on the pad. its been repainted and i replaced the floor a couple years ago. basically its all new. comes with a 26p laserII prop. it will run 76 all day long with 2 people. with a 30p hoss i have run a ch under 82. first $3500 takes it.

search under my name and you will find many threads showing the reconstruction of this boat.

:eyecrazy::eyecrazy::eyecrazy::eyecrazy: wow, makes me wish i was not so far into my promax/ 21footer idea. that would make a great 2nd boat for going out when the family wants to stay home. it is a thrill to be in.

Someone from the board should pick this up! Great rig for a awesome price!

I hope your not done w/ boating altogether. Get settled in at your new place and start saving up for a Superboat:devil:

WOW - it's the total opposite direction I should be taking (need a bigger, smoother boat) - but it's tempting.

I'll ask around down here (Brighton -Novi area) and see if there's a taker. My old boss has an '87 checkmate IO BR (not sure what) that he got as a second boat. His brother has a couple of pickleforks too so someone will want that for $3500.

im moving to columbus, oh in a couple weeks so ill need some cash flow. i do plan on getting another boat this season.

spread the word.:bigthumb:

I live in Cincinnati. If you get to Columbus and have not sold the boat, I will definitely look at it.

BETWEEN THE TO THEY SAVED ME $800 just tryin to help , good luck , zach

Sorry to hear your selling the boat. What an awesome ride. Good luck with the move. They are a pain, but worth it in the end.

I hate to say it, but the boat has been sold. I sadly watched as it pulled away this evening. They guys got themselves a good running boat, I am sure they will be on the site soon, I told them about it.

Darn!!! I would of bought it! Hey guys, I have not been on here in a while, but I started a Checkmate collection last year and would of loved to add that one to my collection. I guess my love for Checkmates continues to grow and I think having more then 1 now has turned into a new hobby for me. I'll try to get back on here soon and post some pictures of my collection. For those interested in what I picked up last year, here goes:

1978 Jetmate w/460 - Metalflake blue - All original including original seats -gelcoat not so good

1979 Exciter w/150 Merc - Metalflake black - All original including original seats - gelcoat excellent

1988 Predictor w/115 Suzuki - Metalflake black - All original including original seats - gelcoat good to excellent

and my latest addition outside the Checkmate family:

1983 Baja SS 16' w/140 Evinrude - Metalflake black - Boat completely redone with a professionally done clear coat over the gelcoat, new seats, new carpet, custom paint on engine cowl, and new ski pole. I looked for this model for a long time and had the hardest time trying to find one and in this nice of shape.

Happy boating to all this year and hopefully I get a chance to meet up with some of you this summer!

You should post some pics of your Checkmate collection here, and the Baja over on Chris's other site www.endlessboating.com there is a section for Baja's over there. Hey, I had a Baja SS 16' at one time too, in fact I still have the hull.
