86 exciter

Hello all, just got registered and am excitered to be here, recently purchased a 1986 Exciter for next to nothing, 150 yamaha outboard, interior shot, have completed a small floor repair, transon good, motor runs strong but I need to work out an oil injection issue (oil pump in holding tank wont stop running) have been watching this site for a while now and I am pleased to see the respect you all seem to have for the older models.
Any help with info on how to get seat skins and or patterns to cut my own would be appreciated.
Thanks from upstate New York

Welcome! As for the oil injection, before I would spend too much time and money, I would remove it and start mixing. The seat skins are available from Cmate, but from what I am seeing on here, the prices have gone way up! Give Kip or Dean a call at Cmate and see what they can do for ya. Both great guys and always willing to help.

the only oil injection issue youre having is that the system is still there . .

im in the same boat as you (pun intended) picked up mine with a very similar future project. need seats and carpet, and a paintjob, but picked it up for next to nothing.

That has been suggested before but on a lot of other sites the yammy oil injection system has been highly touted and I want to feel it out more thoroughly before disabling

Welcome to the Obsession.

Only piece of mind when you have oil injection, is to remove and mix it yourself. It is a pain, but it is a good preventative measure vs roaching a powerhead.

:welcome: aboard!!! I'm a fellow Upstate NY'er, all my boating is on Keuka Lake! If you ever get a chance to come down here to Keuka just say the word, there's a few of us regulars on the lake pretty much every weekend, always looking for other 'Mates to hang out with! Good luck with the new toy!!

numerous subspecies flourishing in the disgusting interior

This is why I chose the oddly part of my handle, never see any yammies hangin off the back of CMs
