C-Hawk Checkmate POKER RUN

Well guys........do to a lack of registrations for this event. It has bascially been cancelled. We are still hoping that anyone whom is/was interested still show's up. We are going to put a fun run together on the fly ........for saturday and a few other things planned. Anyone who paided already will get thier money back(and receive a phone call today or tomorrow). We will still be up @ lyman friday and saturday and if you planned on coming to factory friday please do ......just going to plan the hole weekend on the fly. Should still be a good time .......alot going on @ lake this weekend like we said before....so come on up friday or saturday and join us. We are really disapointed how this turned out but less than 10 boats is not enough for a poker run......we are leaning towards a Regatta for next year no poker run to keep your cost's down. We'll keep everyone updated on our plans, Kip.

That sucks they did not have enough interest. I was looking forward to this. Maybe all the negative talk is hurting.

I would hope its not the negative talk that hurt the event. I would expect the overall economy and unusual weather patterns. I had hoped to attend but couldn't justify a trailer purchase for the trip. (I've used that as my excuse past couple years.) Even still I was dissapointed to hear about the cancelation.

Nah it's got nothing to do with that beckmate chatter!
The poker run has struggled to get more than 15 boats
each year, it was like that when we were there in '07
and again in '08, I would think the culprit is the economy,
expenses and I wonder how many people are reached with
the information, how besides this site and some dealerships
is the event advertised? Just curious. What is the best way
to reach enough people so that even if 1 of 5 reached actually
attended would still amount to 40 to 50 boats showing up?

It truly has been a great time each time we were there,
maybe switching it to a regatta will increase interest.
I'll be up there Friday and part of Saturday anyway to
run the big water:thumb:

Sorry, I guess I should say I was meaning all the negative talk about the economy and how bad of shape everything was. I was not meaning the whole beckmate saga.

I will still be there.

Jason

I'll be up Saturday afternoon with my son, Drewman. Anyone staying over Sunday night too? Perhaps at PIB?

Gona do something...

We are going to do something this year.......not sure what.....but something other than a poker run i think. Soon as i hear something...i'll pass it on !

I think the lake erie poker run sounds fun, but I've never been able to attend (I was hoping to last year- finally had a boat big enough, but was still getting it ready at the time).

It would be neat if the smaller mates could get in on the action... bunch of guys in the area that own em, just can't handle erie safely.
