Checkmate Weekend Chesapeake Bash 2012

Wanna do jelly fish joels on friday for a couple of drinks and something to eat

Jelly Fish Joels may be out for me. It is a 20+ mile run from Kent Narrows up there and 20+ miles back to the Magothy. At 9 knots, that is 4-5hrs worth of traveling and they don't open until 6pm on Friday. We may just head over to Dobbins, get a premium anchorage location and start the weekend festivities:banana: see you when you're done at the old Jelly Fish:D

Hell or high water I'll be there somehow.
On a side note, put my son on the boat and he loved playing in the playpen. Thought his life vest was the coolest and didnt want to take it off so thats a good thing.

Didnt know it was 6 on fridays. Understand not wanting that long trip, forgot your going turtle speed. lol Demag theres a couple other spots that will be going for happy hour/ lunch. River watch and wild duck are nice, right across from joels a little south.

I just saw 6 somewhere, but I also just read 2pm. Don't know... If my crew wants to get a slip and spend the night there, I'm all in:cheers:

You wouldnt need a slip. Its in a big cove that big boats anchor in and then ride in on there small boats.

Demag where did you get your slip at?

If they open at 2pm and we can get there by 3-4pm at the latest and leave for the Magothy at 6-6:30pm, we will be there. The big boat will go fast than 9 knots, but I won't want to go much fast since I will have the Mate in tow. Let me know what you guys decide and we'll make an effort to be there:bigthumb:

I'm going to call Ferry Point tomorrow to check if the Restaurant is open. I have not heard anyone I know say it was. Let you all know tomorrow.

I have been thinking about heading to the island Friday I might be able to leave my boat in the water at the marina over night, then head right back out in the am.

Going to give her a test run this weekend.

As far as food, I was thinking of bringing a large quantity of fried chicken, But I don't have room for a large cooler. Ram, you cool with storing it on the big boat?

I'll store anything that I can fit. I will have a large cooler plus a frig and freezer. If anyone brings something, but doesn't want to ride around in their boat with it, we can store it on the big boat:thumb:

Just made a few phone calls,,,, no restaurant at Ferry Point. I'm going to check on another close to the mouth of the Magothy. I'll bring the chicken.

Thats a good deal, will keep it in mind for a cheap night out.
I'm gonna hang with the guys on the island for the night but the wife thinks its great if we go there for dinner.

I'm used to hanging at the island, but I'm to what everyone wants to do. Should be fun no matter what. Don't forget your cameras!!!
