Checkmates NEW 40 footer

First post in this redonkulous thread....

Congrats Onthehammer, awesome looking boat!

The only thing I will question is the sanity of a few members on here. Talk about desperate housewives gossip/banter.

They were saddle tanks, not sure where they will be mounted tho. Maybe under the cockpit floor???? I know they were big MF'ers tho!!! LOL!

I agree about the rigging to an extent. They are average rigged boats in general. But then again, they are not priced like the outerlimits, DCB, eliminators, etc that have the high end rigging. When it comes down to it, checkmate will custom build any boat to the buyers specs. The end result tho is money. Most buyers will not pay the extra $$$ to do the high end rig jobs on a checkmate. If checkmate raised their prices and did all boats to that level, they might price them self out of sales. Just my $.02

Jazzy, I made that rigging comment in general not to anyone in particular. There was several who commented about the subject and I threw my thoughts out there. If I was talking to someone in particular, I would have quoted them and posted. Some must think that I am out to get them that they have to get their pink panties in a bunch and quote me to start a internet fight, LMFAO ;)

You got a pic with a truck hooked to it, I dont think people realize how big that monster really is.
X2, it really is a massive boat :eyecrazy: When you realize the pure size you are speachless. Then you look at the boat and all the goodies on it and you start thinking like SCT.......

OK, if I sell my boat, cash out my retirement and the kid's college funds, find the wife a 2nd job, and sell my plasma........dang I'm still 200K short!!
:rof::lol::rof:

BTW, there was a 2011 Pulsare 2000LD sitting next to it and it made it look like a little dinghy :D

... To say Mitcher T did a great job with the paint work, would be an understatement. It is nothing short of perfect!!

Not a surprise, Forums tend to spotlight a bad anything; motor work, paint, glass work, etc., but I have yet to read anything negative about Mitcher T.'s work.

Again, what a sharp looking boat.

HD

yeah yf no offense taken, belly tanks are the ones that go in the floor saddle tanks mount against the gunwales it was an apache thing they looked pretty cool

Maybe a few more good pics??? Hmmmm

OTH, man you are one lucky guy!! The boat is amazing, the paint work is just plain mind blowing!! Carrying the paint work on the trailer was nice touch too! :thumb: Can't wait to see it all finished up and hope to one day to see it in person!!

Usually, a boat with staggered motors will have saddle tanks because staggered motors sit a bit lower in the boat. Are these gonna be staggered motors?

Jeeze.... the DRAMA.

It will have belly tanks, which should also impove upon the hulls already impressive handling.

I was thinking saddle tanks are any tank that mounts parallel to the stringer and a belly tank would mount perpendicular to stringer. Are they going under the floor of the cockpit?? BTW, I think the stringer is taller than my enchanter's freeboard :O

For my info, what is my tank considered that mounts under the rear seat perpendicular to stringer??? Anyone, anyone, anyone :D

Gary, I could have drug it back to Cincinnati for you ........but you'd have shot me after seeing how dirty it would have gotten. Snow, salt, and gravel covered the roads today

You got a pic with a truck hooked to it, I dont think people realize how big that monster really is.

I'll say when the Chief was in Chicago, it swallowed up the boats next to it..and they were of similar length..not even close. It was just gigantic..and in a total badazz way. Can't even fathom what it looks like on a trailer.

Now as a Checkmate with those graphics WOW!! All I want to know is will it also run in Lake Michigan at some point..I may risk sinking the Starliner just to get a closer look. :surf:

Lake Michigan for sure out of South Haven, LOTO for sure as well. Trying to get a poker run schedule together for the season as well.

Haven't been in South Haven for a while, but a re-visit will most certainly be in order.

I think a bunch of area Checkmate's following you out the channel on your maiden voyage would make for some COOL video!! :thumb:

Look forward to seeing you and that mighty boat at Lake Ozark (I might've already heralded your boat's birth over on MidWestBoatParty.com). I'd suggest the following events for sure...
Support our Troops Poker Run (Friday June 22nd): http://midwestboatparty.com/pokerrun/
-with that paintjob, it is a natural pairing (although I think a detachable vinyl stick on/fly off bikini for Lady Liberty would be a nice addition)
Capt. Ron's Shootout (and Poker Run): week of 8/16 with main events 8/24-8/26
http://www.lakeoftheozarksshootout.org/
Just trying to increase my chances of seeing that boat in person...congrats.
