First If you read the posts in picture this you would see that I wrote that I Know the rub rail isn't on the boat. I wish it was! OH yeah! The carpet is in the garage,the interior isn't finished,the water pressure guage dosen't work, it needs the rubber windshield insert, the gelcoat only looks good when the boat is wet hehe, the trailer needs new tires, etc. etc. etc.
Second It was my ole' lady who said to put the pics up here anyway.
THIRD... I DIDN"T NOMINATE MY BOAT TO BE IN HERE! Brian did! (thanks Brian your gal looks hot on your name pic)And thanks for the compliments Its always nice to hear.
Thanks ILLMATTIC. And COOPERIDER I totally agree with you.
Anyway those are the only pics I had of the mate to post. I'll post more when its complete, probabaly in about 2 years or so hehe! It took me that long to replace the floor, stringers, transom, motor and rigging.

I'm always open for comment but don't think that what I sent was porn. If you want to see the hardcore stuff I suggest you look for a different website cause it's not here.
I'm not looking to offend anyone, just have a good time on the water.
If you don't want you kids to see women in a bikini, or hardly clothed, you definataly should stay off the florida waterways and beaches. Cause it's EVERYWHERE!

p.s We have 3 underage children together and they have all seen her in that bathing suit.

Don't wait til its complete to post pics, post them as you work on it. Lets see some pics of the work on the floor. Lets see it with the deck off of it.

There is a lot of interest in that style of Playmate. Trust me.

Here's an idea for a pic, drop a couple of those tricycle motors in your boat and post a few pics of the smiles on their faces.

Please understand I was not trying to slag you, your boat or your wife. If it came across that way, I apologize. If you re-read my post you will see I was actually complimentary about both. (I called HOTBOAT quasi-pornographic, which it is, but then I don't buy it so I don't care.) If on the other hand I have provoked a debate about the FUTURE direction of THIS board, then for that I don't apologize. I don't think it hurts to have an open discussion about the content level of a public forum. At some point a threshold gets established and I'm just giving my opinion. I don't mind people disagreeing with me either, although I don't think name calling (which you didn't) is particularily helpful. Thanks for your response.

cooperider, I wish I had pics during the rebuild process. I took about 20 at the before and during the teardown, but our computer got wiped out and we lost em.
I could tell ya about it. but lets just say a lot of rott! from about 6" up the transon about 12" across and about 6' forward up the hull.
The balsa core was mush and I hate to say it but from the factory the wood was glassed in terribly.raw open glass and wood covered with gelcoat where there wasn't carpet. I de-capped it, gutted it to the coring, laid new using 5/8 marine ply glassed and sealed and built stringers, knees, and flotation the pete way!
I'll post some more pics of the work done and work needed to be done soon.
to me it's like have a classic car in the garage that only sees daylight about once a month.
Now matter how finished they are there will always be more to be done.

In regards to this photo in question. My personal opinion is that there is nothing wrong with it. I don't know where you boat Mark, but where I do, Yes I'm from Winnipeg too, not Havasu, I see women I bikini's all the time. Seeing the female gender wearing them at the beach and when enjoying water sports in considered normal by most. I see way more revealing ones on any public beach. It's boy shorts and halter, somewhat modest by todays standards, and hardly pornographic. Perhaps your issue is more the pose than the outfit, I'm not sure. I'll call it a "candid" shot. But it is not inconsistant with any boating environment. If you are worried about your kids seeing that then instead of sunglasses they should wear blindfolds when boating. I've never really considered Hot Boat magazine porn either.

Women in bikini's in boats is normal. Women in bikini's posing with a TV set is trying to use sex to sell.

To me material that would probably considered unacceptable by the "powers that be" on this site, is sexual content. (And who am I to say, I don't run it, I like boats and enjoy lurking around here, they can moderate it as they wish.) Personally, I'm a fairly conservative guy, but lets not become like Jerry Falwell and look to sensor everything.

Just my opinion as part of a discussion not intended to insult or offend.

With regard to girlie pics.

We've had this debate before and it never ends up in a good place. And I can see we're headed down this road again.

As Matt intimated, a pic once in a while, of the girlfriend adorning the bow is one thing. And a thread or forum of pin up type pics is taking it to another level. And from my experience once that happens the boundaries just keep getting pushed further and further after that.

Please, lets not take it beyond the girlfriend on the bow once in a while level. It just alienates a bunch of people. And it can cause a lot of problems for people with kids, people who visit from work etc.

Given that there are already so many sites with pin up forums. I humbly ask, does the world really need another? Let's keep the site about Checkmates and boating. And let's keep the forums so anyone of any age can come and visit and feel comfortable, and we can feel comfortable having them.

Last time this topic just came up for discussion, one member signed off for good(and has't really returned) and a number of our lady members started emailing me asking me to please not allow pin up pics.

I've already got a few PM's and emails coming in once again with people on both sides of this topic making their case.

Let's keep things as they are. That being, a pic of the girlfriend in the boat in her swim trunks is cool and pinups are not.

Just my .02 cents.
