Cleaver prop on Pulsare?

You don't know my wife. . . the only time she WON'T go on the boat is between when the contractions start and when the epidural wears off!

Today, I got 83.4 mph by myself then 79.8 mph with a 250 lb passenger. I think it was still climbing at 83.4 but had to let off because I had lost all semblance of control. I had learned how to drive it with 3-4 people and apparently, it's harder to control with only me.

I had all these high hopes of running well into the 90's with a Hydrotec Stage 3 and the right prop, but with the chine walk issues, I'm not sure I can control it up there. Maybe I do the Stage 3 and prop it for acceleration. . .

Mike

Hydrotech Stage 3 mid-hight 90's, or triple digits possible!!! It is easier to drive with another person in to balance the weght a bit, but once you start "driving" it give'r hell and you'll get it no problemo!!!

You will drive into the 90's no PROBLEMO with the enough power and some seat time, as you can tell it gets easier and easier to drive each outing... It took me a bit, but WideAssOpen was the norm and lovin it...

I'm leaning heavily towards a Hydromotive Quad IV-X O/B in a 28P. Apparently, this prop is like a heavily modified Bravo 1, which worked reasonably well on the boat when BADBK tried it. The 2nd option was a TXP OT4, but the experts say the big Yammer on the big boat needs larger blades and hub. Now I just need to come up with 800 smackers...

Mike

this might seem like a small move but just as a question which side of the boat is your battery mounted on?? most of the pulse/pulsares the battery is mounted on the same side as the driver..which if your alone adds another 50 pounds to that side of the boat.. i changed the location of my battery to the passenger side and when i drive my boat along i swear moving that 50 pounds over made somewhat of a difference..

You need to try a Trophy Plus 26/27. You will be amazed at how well the boat will handle...

If I got my info right, BADBK tried a Trophy 27 and a 28, but they were 4-9 mph slower than the Bravo 1 and 9-16 mph slower than the worked Yamaha T1. I'm a believer that these big Yamaha's like very different props than the merc's.

So I got the Hydromotive in and am pleased so far. It has 8 PVS holes, which let it slip to just over 5000 when planing at WOT. I plugged 2 of them and now it goes just over 4000.

I was really struggling with chine walk with the 29P T1, but that seems to be greatly improved with the Quad IV O/B. I ran it over 70 several times today and barely got a wiggle. It wasn't a good top speed test because I had 3 people, a full tank of fuel, and not enough room, but I did manage to touch a very stable 78 mph. More to come...

P.S. I've cut my hand twice on this prop the leading edge is so sharp.

Good to hear. Hey Mike, whatcha doin next sunday? Wanna do some runnin next sunday? I will be running from P.C. to Destin (crab island) with my brother and drinkin our a$$e$ off, then back. Should be fun, even more with another rig....

As much as I'd like to. . . I've driven over the bridge many times and looked down with envy at all the boats and blue water below. But. . . I was completely zonked after making the trip there, test ride, buy, then drive back all in one day. I couldn't imagine several hours on the water drinking in between 6 hours drives.
