CM Factory Interiors

If I was replacing a complete interior on a boat that was still worth $10-15,000 or more. I would feel OK with a $3-4,000 cost to bolt it in. But some of these boats are only selling for $4-7,000, how can you justify $3500 for an interior. The rest of the boat better be perfect already or you better not care if you are going to get any money out at the end.

I spent $1500 locally for a complete bow rider interior 2 years ago. I took the old panels and seats out, striped them down and replaced any rotton wood. They took the old skins and matched them and attached them to the seats with new foam and also to the new and old panels with new foam, so I was bolting in only, no fussing trying to ge the skins onto the seat bases or panels. For an old boat worth $5-7,000 that was about as high as I wanted to go.

I know it costs the same to make an interior whether for a newer boat or an older one, but really a bunch of potential customers will be out at $3000

If that is what he prices are going to be around I will ride on cracks that is crazy money. The cost of a new boat is stupid now a days.

:eyecrazy::eyecrazy: 3700 for a diplomat interior. Wow that is quite steep. I relize the dip has alot of pieces but dang yo! I paid only about 1800 for a soup to nut interior for my dip about three years ago from them. I may have to strongly consider farming my persuader out to the local guy. If i can find one good enough.

There is a gentleman out by Williamsport that is supposed to be real good.
He was reccommended to me by a friend that had his old Chevy show truck done by him and I will give him a try to do the custom mahogany boat interior once I get the boat completed. Hopefully he won't retire before I am ready. I will try to find his business card and forward the info to you.

I just requested a quote for my predictor. Lets see what the price is for complete front and rear seats along with the side panels. Most likely more than the boat is worth.

I had CM make me a total interior,front & rear seats,side panels, & hatch cover/sun deck for my 1990 Vision season before last-(before the #@$%$#)-took almost 5 months to get it-they did a great job,skins & new plastic backing/frames--cost me $2000 + shipping ($200?) Worth every penny!

Hmmmm

Hustler is going to move Checkmate "up scale" a bit. I think this is one of the examples of it.

...$3500 + ride for a complete new Starliner interior.

That doesn't sound too bad when you consider how many pieces there are in a Starliner especially if you plan on keeping it. Does that include the walk through supports as well?

I put in a quote request with Kip today for skins on my 2100. Should have numbers in a few days.

I'm torn...I love the boat and for what new ones go for it's worth the TLC. It could use a new interior, the vinyl is okay, but the wood in the boxes and both fore and aft is getting there. I tried tightening screws up this summer and about a third of them are spinning... Everything is holding together so far but...it's an 89. The price includes everything...new seats, supports, storage box doors...the works. And you're right, there's a lot too a Starliner interior.

Someone needs to call Fineline Interiors and make the first deal with them for each CM model... once they get the pieces cut, they can mass produce if needed easily and probably for the same $$$ from what I've seen. They make some NICE stuff too!

Very interested in what you get quoted as my skins have reached the time for replacement. If around 1,500 ill go with Checkmate. If over I will have local place do the work.
