Got a Great Offer...

While pulling my 'mate out of the rivah yesterday a couple of guys waiting to launch were on the dock chit-chatting with me.

One of them seemed real interested in the Enchanter, asked a lot of questions and finally asked if I'd sell it.

I told him it wasn't for sale, but that I'd sell nearly anything for the right price.

He proceeded to follow me up to the parking area where he looked the boat over and we talked some more while I was strapping down.

He finally let slip that he liked the flat hull and long flat deck because he intended to BOLT A FISHING CHAIR, TROLLING MOTOR AND ROD HOLDERS TO THE DECK AND USE THE 'MATE AS A FISHING BOAT!

Sorry to shout, but c'mon...

I had trouble picturing such desecration so I had to model it.
See pic.
Y'know...it might work! :eyecrazy:

LOL! i like the weed trimmer..... i mean the trolling motor tided to the bow rail! you'ed think if you wanted a fishing boat, you would be looking at (for) a fishing boat!

Wow what a frickin' moron!!! Bass boats are a dime a dozen for cryin out loud, i'da told him to go find one! I will say tho, that is a nice proto-type you came up with !

Nice concept!!! I love when I come in to the launch ramp and people ask me "SO, DIDJA KETCH ANYTHIN"?".
I bite my tongue which just wants to blurt out "Does this look like a freakin' fishing boat, you moroff?"

I don't run into that at the ramp, but when I tell people I'm going boating they always ask if I catch anything.

My 'know-it-all' landlord has a small alu fishing boat with a 9.9 on the back. He only fishes for a few weeks in the Spring on the Delaware.
So last weekend he's cutting our grass (I have him well trained :D ), and we're chatting about the Enticer which is under cover on the driveway. I'm telling him how I wouldn't take it out on the open sea due to how low it sits in the water with the big Merc on it. He says......"well, it is just a bassboat"

....feck1n' dipsh1t! :shakehead:

I saw an old guy about 80 a couple years ago with a 17ft Action (same as hydrostream)
He had a Walmart swivel seat bolted through the front deck. He also had about eight grab bar and handles, some stuck up 2ft in the air, made out of electrical conduit. He used them as handicap railings. He had a 60hp Mariner on it, which I bought for my 13 Paradise. He also had about ten of the stamped metal rod holders clamped all around the sides. What a total POS! Oh yeah! I forgot, the whole boat was brush painted with red and white latex paint.

So what was the out come? Was the price right? LMAO love the mock-up!

We traded business cards and I told him to call me in a month if he was still interested.
I was going to list in the Sale forum around that time to see if anyone wanted to trade up from a smaller boat. The Enchanter rig is about 300 pounds over the tow rating of my van.
