Greetings from Russia

Buick made a V6 back in 1962 named the "Fireball". It was a cast iron block. Later, in 1966 or 67 they sold the engine to Jeep. Jeep used it in CJ's as an option. Don't know if it ever found it's way into boats.

In the late 70's GM got in trouble for mismatching engines in there cars without telling people, like putting Olds or Chevy engines in Pontiacs or Chevy engines in Oldsmobiles. A few years after that GM stopped designating particular engines to specific divisions and posted disclaimers on new cars along with the window stickers. Eventually Chevy designed engines took over for GM cars all except for Cadillac.

;)

The 3.8 chevy and the 4.3 chevy are the same engine family. Both are just a Chevy 90 degree small block with two cylinders lopped off. Same pistons, rods, valve train parts, accessories etc.. The 3.8 is a lopped off 305 and the 4.3 is a lopped of 350. Neither are related to the 3.8 Buick. Both the 3.8 and 4.3 Chevy were vibration prone until they added the balance shaft to the 4.3.

My wife is from St Petersburg, Russia. Great city.

So they drink beer and stand up with their shirts off while boating in Russia.

Are we sure this isn't "sim" pulling a prank on us. I bet he got his relatives to pose for that video.:rof:

Was there any pink paint on either of those boats, that would be a dead giveaway for sure?

Cool to have fixed Checkmate running in Russia! Good luck Turkcell.

Pops,
Welcome to the site, you may want to create your own thread with your introduction. That way we can all have the chance to find it and recognize you, if your introduction stays buried in this thread, we might not find it.
