HARDY DAM, MI

Looks like one helluva time. Is there any good river boating closer to Grand Rapids?

West of Grand Rapids on M-45 about 20 miles you can soak the boat in the Grand River and run it all the way out to the big lake, or up into Spring Lake.

We boat there a lot. Google 'Ottawa County Parks-Riverside Park' thats about the furthest up river 'nice' launch (its great). We just did the trip Friday pm.

Thanks for the heads up on that, what's the river like? Lots of no wake zones? How long are the stretches to run?

[ Grand River] I run there all the time and usually launch at Riverside as someone in a previous post mentioned (though there are many launches.) There are a few NW zones, and the local pokey use them as income - beware. There is a nice gravel pit off the river near allendale for water sports, beaching anywhere around it etc (this is about as far "up" river as you want to travel. When you enter the pits, stay close to shore on the west (your right) as you go in (the middle is about 18" deep.) Most areas are 4-8' deep, there are a few spots to watch out for. Access to Lake Michigan and Spring Lake.

No Jason gonna be at the chain of lakes this through labor day and hardy next fri the 10th got a spare 555 for you to run new engine installed!!!

No wake in that area seems to be about a 6-8" wake though. I've passed 'Jonny Law' a lot out there this summer pulling a wake and he's said nothing to us. (At 1k rpms my hull drags about an 8" wake so its not like I want to go much slower!)

The gravel pit is really nice, and over Labor Day weekend I found out how to enter it safely by following a couple 24' cabin cruisers up river. Stick with the red markers, stay to the outside of them (left) and head all the way to the NE end of the gravel pit entrance, they flew in there on a right hand turn back toward the SW about 30mph! I couldn't believe it! I don't have a depth marker, but I'd like to know how deep it was for them to cruise in there like that.

Was up at Hardy a couple weekends ago with the boat, very impressive! I'll be back there more often for sure! :bigthumb:

I'll remember that remark wise a$$!

Dude...Beer semi's don't travel at Mach 1. My four winns with its dual built in coolers and plenty of floor space for more will be where the party is at eventually!
