Jack Plate's... what is the best to put on a Checkmate?

10" seems to be the majic number for the 2100, so it should be close for the 2000. And like Gus said go hydraulic that way you can play with it as you run it.

Have fun!!

i am fond of the detwiller hydro. it looks great and is all one unit. you have to search around for the best price though.

There are a few good brands, CMC, Bobs, Detweiler, Stainless marine, etc. The more popular ones have the pump mounted within the jackplate so you don't have to plumb hydraulic and electrical through the transom. Just mount the plate, hook up your power and switch and away you go.

I can get you a CMC with gauge and dial for $900 plus shipping. With gauge, no dial, $780 plus shipping. Without gauge or dial, $670 plus shipping. All 3 are 10". boatman

I just set up a new 20ft longdeck with a 225x and 14" of setback. I'm going to try and run it next week.

I would go at 10" hydraulic that is what I run on my 2100 BR works great

Tried a 6 and had a 11.5 manual. if you want more you can always add a 2" spacer later. Just Make sure you have enough cable or hose before you order it or make sure you get new hoses and cables too.

thanks everyone for all you help! i'm going to call kip next week and get them to install one of these, i'm not to crazy for the cmc. i'm leaning towards bob's jackplate.
can't wait till spring 2006!

I really like the hydrodynamics jackplates. The CMC is OK but it is very heavy and the manual plates have to be adjusted with the boat on a trailer. Call hydrodynamics directly.

Personally, I would not recommend Ricker Racer to anyone.

I have had really good luck with bobs flat jacks. Full hydrolic and they are only 37lbs.And best of all you can pick up new ones for under $700.

Price's for Bob's jack plates are as follows: 4" hydraulic $655, 6" Hydraulic $665, 10" Max Jack $760. These are special prices for people using this site. The 10" Max Jack now retail's for $849. All prices are plus shipping. Thanks, boatman
