This was brought up a few months ago but the thread didn't go anywhere. NY gave me a hard time trying to reg the trailer that came with my Liner so I just put the plate from my other boat trailer on it for the summer but now my other trailers are up for renewal at the end of the month and I'm going to give the Maine reg deal a shot. 5 years for any trailer is $90 through the site I'm going to use and NY wants almost that much for just one year on my big trailer. Its legal to do as long as you travel interstate with the trailer which I can do by driving 5 miles down the road in NJ. I'm going to send off the paperwork for the snowmobile trailer this weekend and will post the results here. I'm tired of getting screwed by the state as they have jacked their fees way up in the past year to cover the budget gaps so this might be an answer. If nothing else, I won't have to worry about the reg for 5 years and that alone is worth it. By the way, it is relatively easy to reg a trailer with lost or missing paperwork as well, NY wouldn't let me reg the boat trailer because I gave them an old title by accident and it didn't have the last owner's name on it. They basically would have said yes if I hadn't provided them with a title.
