My First Checkmate!

The Spectra and Pulse 170 boats were the most practical (and scary handling) fast little boats! Loved the two I owned. The closed bow 171 with the XR6 was quite a handful at 70 mph...:bigthumb:

I wish I could find another clean one! I didn't know much about setting up and outboard back then as I came from owning an I/O Velocity. If I could find another Spectra or Pulse 170, I would throw a 6" hyd. jackplate on it with hyd. steering and a bone stock Mercury 2.5L 200 and have an 80mph mini rocket! I always thought the Spectra had the lines of a mini offshore boat!

Loved the Pulse 170 I had with a Mercury 200hp. A handful to drive but it was a blast!!
