My little Project

linn;634135 I feel like everything I do on the boat is custom and is taking 4 times longer than it would working on my Camaro.[/QUOTE said:
I feel your pain there........keep on it it will be worth it all though!

I'll get some pictures for you of the clearance but, I was able to install the motor with my M1 attached to the bracket and all the belts installed.

I have a smaller AW 324 intercooler but, I'm mounting it to the backseat and also running more pipe. I'm hoping for 76-78 this season.

I'm with ya there. My mustang and hell even my Grand National is easier to work on. But I don't have near the amount of fun in either car that I do in my boat, so it'll be worth it.

I never thought about mounting my IC on the back seat. That's a pretty good idea!! It would make it a lot easier to get around the motor and change plugs and what not. I'll have to fab up a plate to mount it to cause that IC I have is a heavy bitch!!! I don't trust the wood on the back seat to hold it, especially if I get into some rough water.

One thing I have seen done that I like as well is putting the IC water exit above the lower unit. It sprays down on top of the cap. Kind of a ghetto drive shower. Kunkels did that on my Barry's boat and its pretty neat!!

My mounting bracket for the intercooler is just a straight plate to have the intercooler hang even with the head unit. I powder coated the bracket trying to make it look better and I'll get some more pictures this weekend.

I was going to do the same with the IC water exit, just another way to try and get the drive to live longer.

When are you going to have yours finished?

It won't go together till this winter. No way am I going to have my boat down through summer. So I am getting all my parts together right now.

I know that's how most of my projects go as well. I figure if I start on it in early November, I MIGHT have it done by Memorial Day weekend. lol. The good thing is, I'm building a completely new motor. That way I don't have to remove the engine that's in it now until I'm ready to drop the new one in.

Well, I had a bit of a set back and had to pull the motor only to just put it back in. I forgot to install the block off plate when I removed the Corsa exhaust. Well the motor is back in and I made some progress this weekend. Cleaned up all the wiring, mounted the Mercathode to the transom, mounted and installed the intercooler, fit the intercooler piping and got both pipes ready for powder coating.

I still have to mount and run all the lines for the catch can, intercooler dump, finish the headers and powder coat a few things. I'm hoping to fire it up next weekend.

I just got cought up on this, very cool build and I think your mph goals are reasonable forsure! Cant wait to see it on the water!

It's so close :D There are only a few small things left to finish before tuning begins. I'm looking forward to firing it this week and having it on the water for the first time this season next weekend.

I did a ton of small things over the weekend that ate up so much time.

I'm looking forward to replacing all of the gauges over the winter with Autometer Marine gauges and blue bezels.

Dude, If you are replacing those pink bezels, I want them!!!! I'll be adding at least 3 guages to mine and need them to match the rest.
