My New ride; checkmate convinsor 259

I know it can vary in the 253. I have a 75 and Doug has either a 40 or 45. When you get it there you should be able to see the back of the tank poking out in the bilge, there will be a tag with the specs.

There are some problems with the length and the cubic meters. The shipping company is charging me a extra 650 dollar bc they say its bigger than i filled in at the quote form.
I know its selling up bc my senator was bigger also. At that time i didnt measure it myself so i paid. This time i did it myself and know i did it right.
As a solution for this situation we are going to do it again in belgium at the docks.
I have bombed them with mails about this in the last week, and they are starting to come down on the length.
I know the drill and i am fine with it. I said we do measure it again and that will be it.

Did the registration procedure today at the office of the lake police. It takes a week before i get my Numbers in.

There are a few guys from the dutch forums who want to see it at the docks and are coming along to Zeebrugge to pick it up.
They are starting to get checkmate minded lol..👍😜

I will use it at least twice for a forum meeting. They have a river run a week after i get it at the date the shipping company mentioned.
And a winter run in late november. After that i am going to winterize the engine and get her to the heated storage. I winterize it bc i dont trust it and dont let it crack if the heating fails.

Packed a bag for what i need in belgium. Plates on the trailer, some paperwork, keys, UK stickers for the trailer, and more of that stuff. Its coming in at the 12th, after that its one week for the customs to do their part of the deal.
Still a 10k dollar to pay on taxes and port fees. After that its mine!! Looking forward to pick it up.

Some background info;
Cars older than 25 years on gas pay only a quarter on roadtax.
Cars older than 25 years have a oldtimer insurance (25% of a full insurance fee)

Just making up my mind what i am going to do on a towing rig. Got towing hooks plenty on commercial trucks but not the smartes choice on the narrow boating ramps overhere. short term solution Yes, but not in the long term.

A rear main seal is usually able to be fixed but not the easiest leak to deal with. The mileage is low for the year of the truck. Them are great reliable trucks over here.No room in cab for all the family lol. It will definately tow the boat well .

That's a really good looking truck Helmich!!! Once you buy that truck, and get your nice big checkmate over there, all you have to do is gain about 50 pounds, start flying the American flag and then you'll really be one of us!! :bigthumb:

Just watch old Top Gear UK episodes and pay attention to what Richard Hammond does. He wants to be American in the worst way ha-ha.

Just lost weight approx 20 pounds😉

That it doesnt fit the whole family i know. Mostly going with kids or friends.
Those chevys are hard to find. Dodge is big here. I want chevy. If i want old.
Or if i go for a trade in to a new one i go for Dodge. Bc of the butane gas running. But that is not going to happen, the truck is to slow for work in germany autobahn.
Just want to ride a V8 to tow it. Addition to, not a replacement to other cars.

Its at her new home now next to the senator! Soo happy!!

Had a long day to Zeebrugge with lots of traffic horror. Went up there with one of my drivers who did drive the truck and Danny broersen who wanted to HO with us to pick it up and see it for him self.
It survived spotless and we had it checked and could not find any damage.
No problems to get the towing hitch on the truck Thanks to the fact a brought my parts from the USA with me.
The guys on the dutch forum went nuts and half way home there were already spotters lol

At home i took the wd40 off the trailerrims. Saturday and sunday i go to fix and clean things done

These are the pic from Zeebrugge belgium and the way home
