My New ride; checkmate convinsor 259

Her is a little update on her first run in europe;

Last sunday we had the fall run with the dutch fast boats forum. River run to the salt water on the coast through Rotterdam.
It was a blast!! Running strong and doing 64 miles top end. Not where i want to be but thats one thing in the future.
The guys where crazy about my boat, they wanted to know everything.
The temp is going up and down compared to my small block. Dont know if that is good. From 25% on the meter to 75%

Its was the best day on weather in weeks..... Nice sun and no rain or wind.

On the waterway by Rotterdam on the way out to sea..

That's awesome Helmich!!!! I know you wanted to have her here for the rally next year, but I also know that this day on the water with her had to feel great!!!!

It took me a week to get over that fact to be honest. From the beginning John lamon suggested that idea. And it kept going in my mind for two years. Too bad it had to be this way. Brian made it up with boating on the raft up. I still have the sweetest memory on that one!

Running 64 sounds real good for a stock 454. I can barely get that out of mine with the same engine.

I was surprised to see that number. On gps of 2 different phones. I have to say that we run a higher octane overhere. I dont know if it helps with that. The lowest we have on the gasstation is euro95 octane.

If it helps i go to run a higher octane.bgoing to 100 or higher

The run above was with full tank and three heavy guys too.
I had added an injection cleaner in the fuel. It started badly and to run the engine in the beginning was not holding his idle rpm. But after a 6 or ten minutes he was running very smooth.
My merc dealer said put that stuff in and run it real hot. I did. Now its clean again.

The only thing that worries me is that the temp is going up and down stronger than i use to have on my small block in my senator.

Is that normal? Its going up to 75% on scale wot and idle is about 40% on the scale on the gauge

sounds like an impeller going bad or weak?
my temp stays steady
if it fluctuates I know it's time for an impeller
