My trip to Checkmate.

It just looks like the bottom of a 2100 with the contours taken out of the side to make it look flat like the 2000. They have been building this model for a very long time by marine industry standards. I would like see to something really modern looking come out of Checkmate. The new boats look strikingly similar in the details to 20 year old Mates. Which of course is good and bad. They have resisted the pull to build white runabout tubs like everybody else. But how about something high tech and cutting edge?

From what we have heard from reliable sources you just may see something new and cutting edge coming out of Checkmate. Any guys from Bucyrus have any confirmation or information on this?:thumb:

I have heard the same thing also. IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME(SHORT TIME) :sssh: :yell: :yell: :sssh:   All us checkmate fans might wish that they still had lines looking like 20 years ago if the boats start looking all round and white like the ones from the south end of Bucyrus.:brickwall: :brickwall: Bad idea to me but maybe some of you guys would like that.

I don't consider the Bajaliner look as high tech. I was thinking more along the lines of a west coast bowrider cat.

May is not the question. What day is.... Ruin a good name???? Lets just hope it stays CHECKMATE BOATS and hopefully he will keep the history and style of the company alive. Then let's also hope that the employee's that have been die-hard Checkmate people get to keep thier jobs if they so choose.

Let's think positive. He will bring all the changes to the boats we have been wanting for a long time. Such as inner liners, maybe some cutting edge styling and more finished interiors. But leave things about Checkmate that are great like the hull designs and strength. You know guys, now that I am thinking positive this could be a really good thing for all of us. Don't think about the negatives until it happens, which I doubt that would happen. Positive thinking goes a long way. If someone was to put a fiberglass liner and a open bow in a 300 convincor with a little bit of updating on seats and sundecks I might just......

Sorry Coop I was thinking more along the lines of more mid-cabins not that whole deal about Baja, had no idea til someone else chimed in. Anyway does anyone know anything about the 26 mid cabin coming out?

COOP,

Sorry also. I did not mean to hijack your thread, but thought that everyone should know what is going around town and no one wanted to say out loud. But everyone should believe it. GOOD or BAD

Thats OK, checkmate fan, I do share some of your concerns. I'm just holding my tongue, out of respect for certain people. 'Cause usually if I say something on here its a little more than a rumor.

Hey checkmate fan, are you local here in the Bratwurwst city? I'd love to talk to someone about boats that isn't at least 100 miles away.
