New Checkmate owner

Greetings everyone! I became a Checkmate owner for the first time in the fall of 2014 when I purchased a new leftover 2000 BRX and I am super excited about it! I found that I was using my previous boat (2001 Hydrostream V-King) less and less over the years as my kid became older because it's not really suited for tubing, waterskiing, taking out friends, and things like that. While it was a little sad to see the Hydrostream go, replacing it with something that can meet more of the family's needs while still offering great performance has made it a positive step. Thanks Checkmate!

Anyway, I got my CM with no motor and put on the 2.5 litre from my Hydrostream. I drove it like that a couple times in October and while it was ok, it definitely didn't have the get up & go that I was accustomed to with my Hydrostream. In that respect it feels like the CM would benefit from a big block to carry the weight. In keeping with that I picked up a new leftover 250 ProXS that I'll be bolting on this spring.

Got myself a Bob's Action Jack and a Pro Trim Dual already and will be getting hydraulic steering shortly. Once I have all the parts the rigging will begin!

Non-Supporting Member Instructions-Hot-Linking Method

*This method will display a full size photo in your post*

In order to post a picture on the board, the picture you would like to post must first be hosted on the web and be accessible. There are a number of possible places where you can host your images files. One possibility to check on, is whether your ISP provides some free personal web space as part of your service package. If they do, this is an ideal place for you to store picture files. Another option, is using a free picture hosting site such as imageshack.com or photobucket.com. Typically with these sites you open a free account and you are then provided with some free space where you can host your image files. There are also some paid options, where you can pay a fee and a host will provide you with space to host your images.

Once you have loaded your images onto your host, you are simply going to "hotlink" to them. In order to do that, you need to first find the url of the photo you plan to hotlink to. If you are using imageshack or photobucket they typically provide the url of your photo below a small thumbnail version of the photo itself. If you are using another method, you can usually find the url of an image by simply right clicking on the image and by then selecting properties from the box that opens up. Once you select properties a small box will open up which will give you info about the picture file including the url.

Now that you know the url of the photo you would like to post, the rest is pretty simple. You start by hitting reply, if you would like to post a picture in an existing thread, OR by starting a new thread if you would like to start a new topic and post pictures in it.

Once the reply screen opens up, you may want to first type any text you would like to appear with your photo. Then, for the picture portion you hit the photograph icon as illustrated below.




Once you click on the photo icon, a small box will open up where you can either type or paste the url address of the photo you would like to post.




You then simply hit ok and the board's software will do a small bit of coding and paste it into your post. If you've entered the correct url location of the picture file, you should see a preview of your picture in the reply screen area. If you didn't do it correctly you will most likely get the dreaded red X in a box. If you get the red X, you should be able to click on it, delete it, and try again, repeating the process. Once you've finished composing your message hit the submit reply button and you should be done!
 
Thanks everyone and thanks RNGRDVE for getting those pictures up. I had/have them in photobucket so I don't really know why they didn't get into post. I'll have to read the instructions in the 4th post closely to see where I went wrong. That aside it's great to be part of the community!!

It's actually really easy click on picture in PB then hover mouse over picture and rt click, select copy. come to the response box where you type here rt click and select paste.

Nevermind I see you figured it out while I was typing that.
 
It was easy ... I must have copied the wrong link the first time or something silly like that. A problem between the chair and keyboard no doubt.

Looking at the motor pic just reminded me that I ordered a billet aluminum heavy duty bearing carrier for the lower unit. I better give the fellow a call to see where it is so I can get it installed and get a torque tab on there. Spring is coming!
 
Welcome, I also went from a Hydrostream, an 07 Voyager with a 250 ProXS, which would run 90 MPH, and an amazing 86 with 4 people on board. But I got tired of having to watch the waves on the Ohio River, so I went to a 2100 Pulsare. With the same engine the max speed has been 82 with one onboard, but it handles the river waves amazingly well, and I have no regrets except I do miss the acceleration of the Hydrostream!!
